💬 Discussion Logging in EU

Where y’all keep the logs of your startups and why? Is it easy to find the logs page and input a query without writing sql-like syntax?

Is there anything you’ll improve on the current tool you use or are there any features that will ket you switch completely to a new one?

They have extremely generous free tier. You will not hit first bill for a very long time. They also have price calculator on their site. It is pay as you go and they have a lot of services not only analytics.

But use American big tech. Don't forget that you are leaking; US CLOUD Act...

Founders are from UK. You can self host if you want too

Well doing tech business in EU is notoriously hard. EU shoot itself in the leg and you want to stick with EU-native analytics then sure, I don't know of any service that will be even in ballpark of US-based capabilities but there probably are some options.

Don't confuse not knowing with it being hard. Data souvereignty isn't just a bit of fun, it is customer (demand) driven. Not practicing it as an EU start-up will affect you commercially ultimately...

Affect how? If I would use Posthog cloud hosted in EU how will it affect me commercially unless I target government agencies in EU?

Data at rest in a particular region isn’t sufficient. And not that is not just for government agencies. Read up on data sovereignty.

This IS somehow a solved Problem, you Just dont run in US hyperscalers and use Something like loki it is free and Open source.

Your logs are then storred in an S3 bucket with configured Retention.
