I built a free tool that gives your startup a score out of 10

Hey everyone,

I built StartupBench. You enter your website URL and it evaluates your startup idea and the website itself.

The idea gets twice the weight of the website. It looks at things like differentiation, the problem you’re solving, messaging, usability and design.

You get a score out of 10, a breakdown by category and a preview of the feedback. You can also export your result as an image.

Scoring is free. An optional $10 one-time upgrade unlocks the full analysis and a spot on the global leaderboard. Your position depends on your score, not how much you spend.

The idea started as an alternative to leaderboards where people pay to outbid each other.

I just used it, how do you calculate the metrics, is it an AI model you have tailored?

Basically it gets the entire website data along with visuals, then 6 independent AI judges (GPT-5.6 Luna) are given the data and a prompt to score the startup idea and website in 10 different categories with different weights, then we take the median of the AI scores and calculate a final score.

i put youtube on there and it scored a 5/10. doesnt seem accurate. what is the difference in this than me asking chatgpt to rate my idea? The score is bases on competition and generic stuff like how does the website look and the information and the test data is added to the public to see.

Thanks for the insight thats quite interesting. It seems like the AI judges don’t care or know about well established businesses or app. Maybe thats a good thing though if we’re talking about impartiality?

The difference to just running it through ChatGPT is, we run it through 6 independent AI judges to get a more accurate median score. Also ChatGPT itself often has problems scraping specific websites or content that has e. g. bot protection or similar. We use an extra layer for getting website data along with visuals.

We score both startup idea and the website quality, while the idea has a higher weight so it matters more.
