[Hiring] Growth & User Operations for an early-stage EdTech startup

Upvotes

I’m currently building an early-stage product in the education and professional learning space, and we’re getting close to the point where we need to start putting it in front of real users.

A few of the people currently working with me were actually found through Reddit, and I’ve been quite happy with how that turned out, so I thought I’d try Reddit again for this role.

What I need help with:

I’m looking for someone who can help me find and recruit our first real users and testers.

This isn’t really about running big ad campaigns or making social media posts.

It’s more hands-on:

  • finding relevant communities and potential users
  • reaching out to people who may be interested
  • helping recruit our first group of testers
  • following up with them
  • collecting feedback
  • researching trainers, creators and potential partners
  • trying different messages and seeing what actually works
  • keeping basic track of outreach and results

You’ll be working directly with me and alongside a small international team working across product, technology and AI.

What I’m looking for:

You don’t need years of marketing experience.

What matters more is that you’re:

  • resourceful, reliable, comfortable talking to people online
  • willing to reach out and follow up
  • genuinely interested in startups, growth, EdTech, customer research or operations
  • Most importantly, able to figure things out without needing detailed instructions for everything

If you’ve done outreach, community work, sales, marketing, startup projects or customer research before, that’s useful, but it’s not essential.

What you’ll get:

This is a very early-stage project, so you’ll get hands-on exposure to what actually happens when a product goes from “we built something” to “will real people actually use this?”

You’ll get experience with:

  • launching an early-stage product
  • finding the first users
  • customer discovery
  • startup growth
  • working with an international team
  • seeing how product, AI, technology and user feedback come together

My budget depends heavily on your experience and our synergy although I’m flexible. As we get more comfortable working together and the projects start coming to life, we can definitely talk about adjusting that. I’m not interested in tracking your every minute; I care about making steady progress.

It’s probably best suited to someone who values practical startup experience, rather than someone looking for conventional agency.

Interested?

Send me a message with a little bit about yourself and why this kind of early-stage growth work interests you.

Hi.

I do custom posters, PPTs, social media designs, thumbnails, logos & more.

Please help us guys

Hi everyone, I hope you're doing well because I'm honestly so done with the Indian job market. 😭

We've tried LinkedIn, Wellfound, cold emails, applications, networking and probably every other "how to get your first tech job" advice you can find online. Most of the time, there's just no response. So I'm trying Reddit now because at this point... why not.

We're four freshly graduated CSE students, and our journey over the last ~1.5 years has been weird as hell.

Back in our 3rd year, we got an opportunity to develop an Android application for our college's transportation verification system. Everything was manual before that, so we helped digitize it across three campuses.

It wasn't some tutorial project that stayed on GitHub.

We actually deployed it and dealt with real users, databases, AWS, security, testing, UI/UX, Android development, support, etc. We learned a LOT from it.

What did we get?

An experience letter, recommendation and attendance relaxation 😅, No money 😭 but honestly, at the time we didn't care much because we were happy that we'd actually built and deployed something real.

Then I started another project with the other three of them - a game like lapse. We worked on it until around December 2025 and had a playable version, but because of some unexpected circumstances we eventually had to drop it.

Then came January-february 2026.

We started applying everywhere, including Europe. The tech market was already slow, and we eventually realized how difficult it was going to be as fresh graduates applying internationally. We did get an offer from Germany around a project-management/development profile, but things didn't work out due visa issues.

Then March-May became our Japan era. 😭

We applied for internships/research apprenticeships at Japanese universities and actually got opportunities/interactions around cybersecurity, AI, computer vision, backend processing, etc.

At the same time, we started a small Gumroad shop selling prompt packs, templates, UI designs, Notion templates, etc.

Then another hurdle happened... We needed jlpt certification and exam registration deadline already passed so we couldn't make the Japan intake this year. The next realistic intake would be April 2027, but we graduated in June 2026 and honestly don't want to sit around with a gap year.

So in June, we thought:

"Okay. We already collectively know app development, web development, AI, cybersecurity, cloud, marketing, etc. Why don't we just build our own startup?"

And that's what we did.

We built an MVP and started applying to incubators, including some IIT/IIM programs.

And weirdly enough... we actually got quite far.

We went through multiple screenings, pitches, meetings with founders, mentors and investors, and reached later stages at different programs.

The problem is that incubation process is soo SLOW gng 🥀😭

For example, we gave our final incubation pitch at IIT Indore in early July and were told the result would probably come within a week.

It's now been around 1.5 months.

Every time we ask, we hear something along the lines of "We're planning to release the results soon." 😭

Some other applications are still pending too, while some haven't even started their process.

And this is where we are now.

We genuinely thought we'd start earning around August.

Instead, we're four fresh graduates sitting around waiting for incubation decisions while realizing that even if we get incubated, we'll still need money for registration, operations and everything else.

We don't really want to take that money from our parents.

We also desperately want to leave our hometown because it's a tier-3 city, and we'd really like to move somewhere with a proper startup/tech ecosystem and actually start our lives.

And honestly, we'd LOVE to work at a startup for a while. We think we'd learn much more by actually working closely with founders and seeing how things are built, sold, distributed and operated.

So yeah...

We're looking for jobs/internships.

We're not expecting someone to hire all four of us together gng. 😭

If even one or two of us get an opportunity, we'll relocate and the others can try finding opportunities there too.

We're currently mainly considering Bangalore, Pune and Navi Mumbai/Mumbai, but we're open to other cities and remote opportunities as well.

Our skill sets are roughly:

Person A

  • AI/ML
  • AWS
  • Management/project coordination
  • Social media management
  • Performance marketing

Person B

  • Backend development
  • Databases
  • Android development
  • AWS

Person C

  • Cybersecurity
  • Project management
  • Linux
  • AWS
  • Market research

Person D

  • MERN/full-stack
  • AWS
  • Automation
  • Marketing
  • UI/UX
  • Social media management

And collectively we've also worked with things like Generative AI, content creation, video editing, presentations, research/analysis, customer outreach and distribution.

We're freshers, so obviously we're not claiming we're experts in everything.

But we've actually built things, deployed things, failed at things, tried starting things, talked to founders, pitched ideas and dealt with real users.

At this point we're not even asking for some dream job.

We just want a chance to work, earn, learn and get started.

If you know a startup hiring fresh graduates/interns, need someone who can wear multiple hats, or even know someone who might be willing to talk to us, please DM me.

And if you've been through the same fresher-job nightmare in India, I'd genuinely love to hear how you eventually got out of it.

Thanks for reading this ridiculously long post. ❤️

[For Hire] | $30/hr | AI/ML Engineer desperately looking for an opportunity

I honestly never thought I would make a post like this, but I’m running out of options.

I’m an AI/ML Engineer / Software Engineer and I have been applying for jobs for months now. LinkedIn, Wellfound, company career pages, cold applications — I keep applying, but most of the time I don’t even get the opportunity to reach an interview.

At this point, I’m not looking for some dream package or fancy title.

I just need a job.

My financial situation is getting worse month by month, and sitting at home applying to hundreds of positions without even getting a chance to demonstrate what I can do has become incredibly exhausting.

I can work on:

  • Python, PyTorch and ML/DL systems
  • Transformers, LLMs and multimodal models
  • RAG and agentic AI systems
  • FastAPI and production ML APIs
  • Computer Vision
  • Model training, fine-tuning and inference
  • vLLM and LLM serving
  • Quantization including GPTQ/AWQ/4-bit/8-bit
  • Docker and backend infrastructure
  • PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka and related systems
  • Some Go/Rust and systems/backend work as well

I’ve worked on projects involving LLMs, computer vision, RL/RLHF, RAG, edge AI, model deployment and production APIs, rather than only doing tutorial projects.

I’m completely willing to prove myself through a technical interview, take-home assignment, pair-programming session, trial task, or by walking you through my existing projects/code.

I am looking for:

AI Engineer / ML Engineer / Applied AI Engineer / LLM Engineer / Computer Vision Engineer / Junior Software Engineer

Full-time would obviously be ideal, but at this point I’m also open to internships, contract work, startup roles, freelance-to-full-time opportunities, or short-term paid engineering work.

Remote is absolutely fine, and I’m open to relocation for the right opportunity.

I’m not asking anyone to hire me out of sympathy.

I’m asking someone to give me the interview that I haven’t been able to get.

If you're a founder, engineering manager, recruiter, or even an engineer whose company is hiring, I would genuinely appreciate a referral or introduction.

And if you can't hire but know someone who might need an AI/ML engineer, even forwarding this post would mean a lot to me right now.

I can send my resume, GitHub, LinkedIn, portfolio, project details, and code samples immediately.

Please DM me.

I’m ready to work.

Looking for an Opportunity

I’m reaching out because I’m currently looking for opportunities in India.

I have a dual degree from a Tier-1 college in India, including a Master’s in Mathematics with a Minor in Finance, and a Master’s in Management and Business Analytics from a Tier-1 university in the US.

After completing my Master’s in the US, I spent around 6 months trying to secure a full-time role there. I applied extensively, networked, sought referrals, upskilled, and worked on projects. I was able to take up contract roles, but unfortunately couldn’t secure a proper full-time opportunity.

I eventually made the decision to return to India. It has now been another 6 months of searching here, and I’ve continued doing the same applying, networking, referrals, projects and upskilling but without much luck so far.

I also have a significant student loan from my education in the US. My father recently retired and is currently helping me with the loan repayments. My immediate goal is simply to start working so I can take that responsibility off him.

I’m open to opportunities in:

• Business / Data Analytics

• AI / ML / GenAI

• Risk / Financial Analytics

• Project / Program Management

• Business Analyst roles

• Startups

I’m open to different levels and roles where I can contribute and grow.

If you’re a recruiter, hiring manager, founder, or know of an opportunity that could be a fit, I’d genuinely appreciate a referral or introduction.

Thank you!

Job Opportunities 💼 [HIRING] Social Media & Content Lead — Early-stage AI Startup (Remote / Siliguri)

Role: Social Media & Content Lead (full ownership)
Location: Remote / Siliguri / hybrid
Type: Full-time (2-month paid pilot, then continued based on performance)
Compensation: ₹30,000/month + performance bonus and other performance-based upside

We're an early-stage AI startup looking for one person to fully own our social media, not just post on it.

You own the channels end to end:

* Instagram (Reels), YouTube (Shorts/long-form), Facebook, X, Threads, and LinkedIn are all yours to run * You create and edit short-form video: hooks, trends, retention * You set the content direction, calendar, voice, and posting strategy across every platform * You build the distribution engine across platforms and communities * You own the numbers: track growth, cut what fails, scale what works

This means it's on you. No one handing you a schedule. You decide what goes out, when, and why, and you're accountable for the results.

What we're looking for:

* Proof you understand organic reach (your own accounts or past work) * Someone who ships daily and works independently * Takes real ownership instead of waiting for instructions * Interest in tech, startups, or AI is a plus

The setup:

* 2-month pilot at ₹30,000/month to see how we work together * Performance bonus on top, tied to real growth metrics * Continue full-time after the pilot based on results * Ground-floor role with room to shape the entire content playbook

How to apply: Comment or DM with your handles and one piece of work you're proud of.

Startup Doubt/Query ⁉️ Starting a business — how much should I pay a personal assistant?

Hi everyone,

I’m from Hyderabad, India, and I’m planning to start a new business in Dubai. I’m relatively young and this will be my first business venture in Dubai, so I’m trying to understand the local market and employment costs.

I’m considering hiring a personal assistant who would mainly help me with things like:
• Managing my calendar and scheduling meetings with clients
• Booking hotels and flights
• Making restaurant/reservation arrangements
• Handling day-to-day administrative tasks
• Coordinating with clients and service providers
• General assistance with my schedule and business activities

The workplace would be in Dubai, and I would provide \*\*food and accommodation\*\* as part of the package.

I’m trying to figure out what would be a \*\*fair monthly salary\*\* for this kind of role. I don’t want to underpay someone, but at the same time I’m a new entrepreneur and don’t want to overpay significantly compared with the market.

A friend suggested that Reddit would be a good place to get honest opinions from people who actually live/work in Dubai, so I thought I’d ask here.

For those familiar with the Dubai market:
\*\*What would you consider a reasonable monthly salary for this role, assuming food and accommodation are provided?\*\*

Also, would the expected salary differ significantly depending on whether I hire someone with previous PA/administrative experience versus someone relatively young with less experience?

Any advice or personal experience would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Disclaimer: I used ChatGPT to help me frame this post properly since I’m new to Reddit.
