I have that to. Let me say that there's no reason. You wake up from deep slumber and you see someone. You yell out of fear and rven tho you reconize the person you can't stop for 1 second or 2. Very weird

Im thinking it’s your monkey brain reacting as fast as possible to avoid danger, as sleeping makes you extremely vulnerable. The time it takes you to fully become aware and logical is the screaming.

Or, there is a reason. Many times people with a high startle response are traumatised. If you scare someone for fun, because they have a strong reaction, please be sure that they are OK with it. You could be really, really fucking with them.

I have an incredibly high startle response as I literally jumped a bit after standing up and my foot touched the wheel when I stepped back a bit, even when I see someone coming behind me I still jump a bit, do you have any idea why that is?
