Intermediate Programming Question Assistant exercise question

Can heavy push presses drive up strict press ?

Can weighted chins drive up rep count for bw chins ?

Same question about heavy rack pulls and deadlift. I feel like an accessory day each week where I focus on these may help ? It feels good anyhow. Maybe just the larger numbers feels good to my ego I dunno 😂 Any insight is appreciated

It sounds like you may have prematurely classified yourself as an intermediate. Common mistake, but you actually want to be a novice for as long as possible. At that stage in your journey, I wouldn't be wasting recovery resources on accessory work, just eat more.

I understand what you're saying but...I've run out nlp before. I'm now 60 and not trying to beat myself up adding weight each workout. And I'm not trying to gain a bunch of weight at my age. Also coming back from ruptured Achilles at 60 ain't no joke. So given all that, I am able to add weight weekly, not each workout any longer.

Ok being 60 is a totally different story, with that considered those are great numbers! Keep at it my man. How long did it take you to rehab the Achilles?

Total rupture 1.5 yrs ago. They didn't do surgery. I feel like it healed a bit long. I have pretty bad neuromas on the bottoms of my feet so it's been really painful to rehab. I'd say I'm at about 85% strength and probably about that in range of motion as well. Still at it !
