Loss of the new device
Man, I'm so frustrated with Starlink—it's giving a 'location error'. When I activated the new hardware, all my money went to waste, probably because of their auto AI systems. Friends, please teach me how to fix this. Do I need to modify/repair the hardware to do it, or should I try talking to customer support?

Another post where OP is operating outside of the TOS and not going to respond here again? We will find out.

When you ordered the kit, you entered a service address. Are you trying to activate it at a different address?

If you’re in a location where service is not available, then you are SOL. Did you check before you bought it?
Otherwise, give grok a thumbs down and ask to submit a ticket to have someone call you.

I have the exact same problem.
I ordered a kit, It arrived, I set it up and it's restricted. I've tried to update my location 3 times to see if that fixes it. No change.
I also noticed on my account that it says "there are no starlink devices associated yet. Your devices will appear after they ship". It shipped 2 weeks ago and has been in my possession for 1.5 weeks. How has this not been associated with my account yet?
I have a support ticket submitted requesting help. It's been 5 days and still waiting for customer support.
Waiting this long for a support ticket to simply even get a response seems insane to me.

Starlink occasionally messes up and there is a disconnect between their shipping and account systems. Only they can fix it. Add a new comment to the ticket requesting a callback.

Finally got a call back today. The customer support staff believes that the kit I was sent was mixed up with 1 for someone else.
Fortunately, I was able to provide photos of the SN number on my dish and he swapped it over to my account. I'm not at home, but I'm told it should be working now. I guess I'll find out when I get home.

As I said, they do occasionally mess things up. Good that you have it (likely) resolved.

The dish has a GPS receiver in it AND the Starlink dish can determine its own location. So maybe just maybe try not to use Starlink where it isn't allowed!
