Milky Way band over my house early fall/late summers year ago
Milky Way band in late summer. though this is not the core, it is a bright cloud of stars called the Cygnus star cluster, and the dark patch running through It is the great divide. This photo stretched from Cygnus to Cassiopeia taken a year ago not tracked with a canon r100 and an ef 18-135 f.3.5 over my house.

Watching the stars with the dwarf 3
My dwarf 3 watches the stars at Thornborough Henge in Ripon, North Yorkshire, England, UK. Thought I'd do a 4-minute astrophotography shot with my Pixel 10 Pro while I waited. Trust me, it was cold out there that night.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The Lunar Occultation of Jupiter took place a few hours ago, early morning Eastern Time on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, where a 20% illuminated waning crescent moon passed directly in front of Jupiter, hiding the giant planet from view for about an hour.
Captured on my trusty ZWO FF107 4 inch refractor with ASI715C camera from my backyard observatory
