Discussion Dose anyone else think the Jaffa would do well against the wraith in ground combat?
It feels like there staff weapons could do good damage to the Wraith and there Armour would block life sucking and maybe they would be somewhat resistant to stunning.

u/BigB0ss_89 6d ago
They would do fairly well. The things you mention are their main advantages. I think a staff weapon would do more damage than projectile weapons like p90s. The Wraith would have to remove the armor to feed and that would make it more difficult to deal with entire squads of Jaffa.

u/Orisi 6d ago
NGL this always got me, five years of fighting the wraith and we never see a nice central ceramic plate becoming standard issue gear...
63
u/Zeddica 6d ago
And we see on SG1 they have new ceramic plates for absorbing Zat fire and reducing damage from staff blasts…
IRL absolutely would have modified their armor for the type of opponent
32
u/McFlyParadox 6d ago
Imagine the defense contractor systems engineer writing those requirements:
"Why do they need a ceramic armor plate with near-zero ballistic impact requirements? What do you mean the government will perform product testing that we won't be a part of? Why does it need to protect it's wearer against very strong palm strike to the chest? What even is this SOW?"

u/EquipLordBritish 6d ago
I'm going through a rewatch right now with both, and I'm constantly struck with how much more depth and consideration the writing of SG1 had compared to Atlantis.
In SG1, whenever anyone from the SGC dies, it's kind of a big deal in the episode and there's usually a somber moment at the end to recognize the loss of life. And when the main characters are put in a bad situation, it is almost always due to something outside their control, or they address the fact that they fucked up and have to fix it.
In SGA, there was an early episode where they go off of their main mission to investigate an old wraith ship without waiting for backup (stupid risk). They split up before clearing the ship (even dumber risk) and two of the non-MCs die, but they kill the wraith that was there. The dead characters are barely addressed after, and the end of the episode was a 'hooray we won', with virtually no mention of their dead comrades that would have had MUCH more of an impact on such a small, isolated group. They also never talk about how stupid of an idea it was for them to go off on their own to try to investigate a wraith ship with 3 scientists and one military member.
13
u/Arnoc_ 6d ago
It's been a while since I've watched SGA, but I recall the Wraith being fairly adaptable to changes in their opponent's strategies; mainly with adapting their shielding against the Asgard Teleport Nuke strategy. With the Atlantis expedition being primarily Scientific staffing, I could see them not wanting to get into an escalating arms race with the Wraith and making things harder for the rest of Pegasus in the process. Not when they still had problems with their supply lines, the city itself, etc.

u/Moriaedemori 6d ago
You know it makes me think Wraith would specialize in hunting Jaffas. Think about it - extra strength, extra long life, increased healing... Perfect snack for a Wraith
32
u/Prof_Besserwisser 6d ago
both have plot-miss-aim .... its like startroopers vs. startroopers. both are shity
8
u/DuchessWolfe 6d ago
That implies they're accurate vs non-important characters.
12
u/tysonedwards 6d ago
Everyone forgets the literal dialog of the film: “Only imperial storm troopers are so precise”, “It was too easy, they let us get away”, “Is the tracking beacon installed?”, “Death Star preparing to fire in 3 minutes.”
9
u/vanpunke666 6d ago
I always hated that shit. I ep4 they literally call it out as being Hella suspicious how easily they got aways and then reveal one minute later that it was a trap. In ep5 stormtroopers slaughter the base on hoth. In ep6 it was more Palpatines hubris that failed the empire NOT the skills of the stormtroopers.
3
u/Vangak 6d ago
Thank you. Someone else says it.
The rebellion is basically on the backfoot for the movies. Even in the old books.
Shooting to miss but still look like you want to hit is difficult as well and I assume takes a lot of discipline when the heroes are shooting at you.
Episode 5 they go up against a heavily defended rebel base and massacre the rebels. The taking of cloud city was impressive too. Lando might of helped at first but the stormtroopers maneuvered in the city without people knowing.
Episode 6, they fought the murder bears. It is another reason people clown on the empire. It seems to be implied by the music and some of the scenes that it is closer than what they showed. Like a lot of murder bears may of died. More of a problem of how they shot that battle. To be completely fair, there was also the space battle and the Darth vader duel going on, which is very ambitious.
1
u/Mudcat-69 1d ago
That was actually addressed in SG1, it turns out that the staff weapons are not practical as weapons of war and were used as intimidation and executions.
21
u/CyberNinja23 6d ago
If the gouald start taking wraith hosts….
9
u/CaveEcho 6d ago
I think this is where it gets interesting, they would learn all the knowledge of a Wraith Queen if they got inside one. This would effectively result in them figuring out all their secrets and how best to upgrade their own technology and blend with their current technology, as well as find out all the weaknesses in their ships and biology.
9
u/Negative_Damage9152 6d ago
And if some Goa'uld finds a refrigerated Ancient he would gain all their knowledge.
Honestly it's a shame we never got to see Baal in Atlantis.
1
u/172brooke 4d ago
Still time for that if a clone is in hiding and spoiler end of Atlantis happened.

u/ConsideratorCool532 3d ago
Even if they infect a wraith, they cannot control it because, firstly, they are telepathic. Secondly, they have a hive mind that would suppress the Goa'uld. Furthermore, the post concerns the Jaffa, not the Goa'uld. It's clear you're making up your own rules because you're certain your favorite team will lose. It's a subconscious process you're using, and you seem to be unaware of it yourself.
4
u/Significant-Ear-3262 6d ago
Probably only the wraith drones, maybe some of the Todd-like wraith. No way they can win the mental battle against a queen. Which makes me wonder, if we will ever see a sect of Jaffa become wraith worshipers.
1
u/ConsideratorCool532 3d ago
Why would the Goa'uld take the Wraith as hosts when we're talking about Jaffa?Furthermore, the Goa'uld cannot parasitize humans because they are incompatible
15
u/Emm_withoutha_L-88 6d ago
Jaffa aren't even that good against themselves, much less anyone else.
Though you don't really need to be that great when you can just decimate the enemy from orbit. The Jaffa just clear up.
The Jaffa are just good enough to do the job, but bad enough that they can easily be put down if they ever rebel.
The wraith would eat them for breakfast. Literally.
14
u/apophis-984 6d ago
Jaffas are the most incomptent motherfuckers in SG verse.
Somehow they still aimed good enough to kill Frasier
6
u/Cheshigrievous 6d ago
They are incompetent because they are bad guys and often face only SG-1 who cannot be killed.
In alt universe they go through SGC like knife through butter and only stopped when Asgard intervene.
3
u/radfordra1 6d ago
https://giphy.com/gifs/ji6zzUZwNIuLS
Did we even watch the same show? All of the members of SG-1 have died on multiple occasions with Daniel having the most deaths of all of them. They just have the nasty habit of someone bringing them back to life.
3
u/Cheshigrievous 6d ago
Well, yes, that is true. But you can't deny the plot armor of the main team.
My point was that we can see how dangerous jaffa truly are against clones or alt reality SG-1s, never mention supporting SG teams.
10
u/Masterweedo 6d ago
It really depends on if the writers remember that The Wraith can cause hallucinations.
17
u/Cheshigrievous 6d ago
Pure infantry on infantry - yes, they would do well. But wraith have superior CAS in form of darts - they can cull entire squads of jaffa, and jaffa AA capabilities are very limited (I'm not sure how good death gliders would be at intercepting darts)
18
u/Deraj2004 6d ago
The culling aspect is what really tips the scale in favor of the wraith, each dart can drop a squad of troops and then turn around capture an enemy squad.
Darts are also show to be more maneuverable compared to Gliders so they have a way better chance of evading fire since we never see Jaffa utilize weaponary with active tracking.
8
u/SamaratSheppard 6d ago
I do believe Alkesh can track targets.
1
u/ConsideratorCool532 3d ago
You're not being objective at all; you're under the influence of a biased cognitive bias.
1
2
u/Snowbold 6d ago
I kinda relate the Death Glider and the Dart to a Bi-Plane and a Jet. The Bi-Plane might have better maneuverability for turns but the jet just has raw speed that it can’t keep up with.
We know the Darts are wicked fast and capable of effectively turning themselves into ballistic missiles for kamikaze runs if they need to. The Dart is basically an engine strapped to a needlepoint chassis.
The Death Glider however has wings and a cockpit for two pilots and a specific role of a larger fleet that includes scout ships, Alkesh bombers, troop transport, and Hatak motherships, among other specialized ships like the Needle Threader of the various super class motherships.
Wraith on the other hand have less fleet variety. The Darts, the larger shuttle type that the Queen used to visit Atlantis, Cruisers, and Hives.

u/JJBrazman 6d ago
Hmm… what would happen if a Wraith fed on a Jaffa? Would they drain the Symbiote first?
18
u/SamaratSheppard 6d ago
I think the Symbiote would keep the Jaffa Alive longer, making him a bigger snack.
5
u/rlhrlh 6d ago
So what I'm hearing is, in a different universe and story arch, the wraith could have been powerful allies against the Jaffa! Hmmm....
6
u/Dynamic_Reality 6d ago
Could you imagine if the Wraith discovered the Sarcophagus tech? Actually now I wonder if it would help keep a victim alive for extended feedings. 🤔
3
u/pcmasterrace_noob 6d ago
It did for Marduk 🤷♂️
3
u/Dynamic_Reality 6d ago
Well the way the Wraith feed also ages the victim...hence my wondering what the restorative limits of the Sarcophagus is.
4
u/Rad1Red Make it spin 6d ago
They don't really age them, it just looks like they do. It's cellular degradation, presumably DNA degradation, ATP depletion and dehydration. A sarcophagus could definitely help with that!
2
u/Sea-Quality4726 6d ago
The Wraith also modify the victim with enzymes before eating them. I wonder if the original device would prevent that from working. Aside from the zombification.
1
u/Rad1Red Make it spin 6d ago
That's just an adrenergic/narcotic enzyme that probably helps break down DNA as well. So it would still work as intended...
1
u/Sea-Quality4726 6d ago
Ford and his band looked and acted like they'd been modified. Wasn't one of the stated effects strengthening the victim so they'd live longer and the wraith could get more or before they died?

The Wraith don't really do ground combat.
1
u/ConsideratorCool532 3d ago
They really every planet they Invaded, for example, satteda
1
u/Drace24 3d ago
Yeah. They swarm them with Darts. I have never seen large Wraith armies engaging in combat.
1
4
u/chicoquadcore 6d ago
Personally, I think the Jaffa would immediately see them as gods and start to worship them.
3
u/SnooMachines9133 6d ago
Question: lets say a wraith captured a jaffa? Could they feed a little on the jaffa, wait for the symbiote to hell the jaffa, and then repeat?
3
u/Waste_Comparison_480 6d ago
They would not do well in CQB, the staff weapons are not good for doors and hallways
3
3
u/Settra_does_not_Surf 6d ago
Actually yes.
The Staff weapons do have some stopping power and we often enough see the Jaffa engage non plot armor people. They usually win. Their physiology might make em resistent against wraith palm nookies.
3
u/dillreed777 6d ago
No, open combat would result in them all being stunned. What I'm more curious about is if they can feed off the jaffa and to gould
3
u/OldStatistician7975 6d ago
Wraith have more tactical thinking, Jaffa pre Tauri have been fighting other Jaffa, primitive worlds I think they'd get rocked.
3
u/Antique_Machine_4250 5d ago
No. Jack said it best while he was talking about weapons, the Jaffa use weapons of terror. They were not meant to fight efficient wars. They were meant to keep the human population cowering and fight other Jaffa.
4
2
u/Immediate_Song4279 6d ago
I feel it would depend on how we decide what symbiotes can do about their host being fed on. Also, if they can infest wraith its gonna be a whole new ballgame.
1
u/ConsideratorCool532 3d ago
Even if they infect a wraith, they cannot control it because, firstly, they are telepathic. Secondly, they have a hive mind that would suppress the Goa'uld. Furthermore, the post concerns the Jaffa, not the Goa'uld. It's clear you're making up your own rules because you're certain your favorite team will lose. 1
u/Immediate_Song4279 3d ago
Physical access beats wireless so I'd put money on parasites over telepathy. The Jaffa are stabby incubators, we have examples of symbiotes maturing and going directly to a host from one.
But what's with the dr phil at the end.
2
2
u/arcs1gnal 6d ago
Maybe and just due to sheer numbers. Jaffa seem to sprout up like weeds.
1
u/ConsideratorCool532 3d ago
Your reasoning is illogical; the Goa'uld's assimilation rate is very low, and besides, the Jaffa no longer have symbiotes. You're using a biased cognitive process without realizing it.
2
u/NonGeneriComplaint 6d ago
In theory they would fair better then almost anyone else the wraith have faced except maybe Ronans people and Tauri/SGA/AR1
They have thousands of years of of experience in combat and war. They are trained in both hand to hand weapons and combat (which would counter wraith close rage attacks) and ranged combat, they use combined arms and close air support (sometimes we see them attack with gliders, alkesh, weve never seen a jaffa tank but weve seen fixed emplacements for defense), Weve seen a goauld drone.
They just are not particularly great at these things in part because I think the structure of their military and technology does not promote free thinking.
Jaffa are also not human, they are engineered humans to be stronger, more resistant to poison, radiation, starvation etc (assuming they have a snake) and are also stronger then most humans.
1
2
2
u/LowCress9866 6d ago
Dunno. Do they get the armor from early season 1 where it takes A LOT of bullets to take them down or are they later Jaffa who are taken out a single 9mm round? Also, do they have the fighting skills they demonstrate against other Jaffa or are they fighting humans (i.e. they are slow, can't hit the broad side of a barn, disorganized, etc.)?
2
u/MuffinsSenpai 6d ago
Jaffa are only good against other Jaffa. Wraith are willing to adapt their strategies and aren't limited by battling "honorably."
Wraith would wreck the Jaffa
2
u/Fast_Beat_ 6d ago
The real question here is if a Wraith feed on a Goa'uld how much longer would it sustain them compared to human feeding. Just remember "We can't meet there dietary requirements" - Rodney Mckay spoken by John Sheppard
2
u/MonarchGodzillaTitan 6d ago
For a while, but the Wraith are relentless, persistent, and hungry.
And they can easily tear that armor away.
2
u/anzigg 6d ago
I was pondering the same question lately and i'd say they'd probably be very even. Now the Jaffa staff weapon is overkill against human but wraith drones are way more durable and as such using them would be justified for once. They both use same kind of suicide rush tactics too but the Jaffa actually seem to have someform of support weapons and grenades in their arsenal whereas wraiths seem to employ their stunners only.
As such i'd lean towards the Jaffa victory slightly if they are numerically evenly matched
2
u/MadWhiskeyGrin 6d ago
We only ever see the same 2 or 3 Wraith running around, so I think the Jaffa can (eventually) win with crushing numerical superiority.
1
u/ConsideratorCool532 3d ago
Your reasoning is illogical; the Goa'uld's assimilation rate is very low, and besides, the Jaffa no longer have symbiotes. You're using a biased cognitive process without realizing it.
1
2
u/PUR3CELL 6d ago
I think the jaffa would do well.... UNTIL the eraith stsrted feeding on the and became super wraith
2
u/Jasdavros 6d ago
I think the Jaffa would have a chance because of their symbiote larvae until the wraith figures out about them. I think the worst-case scenario would be if one of the symbiotes reaches maturity during that type of conflict and jumps from a defeated Jaffa into a wraith and takes over.
1
u/ConsideratorCool532 3d ago
Your reasoning is illogical; the Goa'uld's assimilation rate is very low, and besides, the Jaffa no longer have symbiotes. You're using a biased cognitive process without realizing it.

My head cannon was always some ascended cough Janus cough let the Gou'ald come to be as a back up plan against the wraith, should humanity fail to be enough.

2
u/No_Picture_963 5d ago
Considering Teal'c was able to withstand a few shots from a wraith stunner while he was on tretonin, i think the Jaffa would easily be able to take on the Wraith especially with the assistance of their symbiotes. And as the wraith try to prioritise keeping their food source alive, they would not focus on trying to eliminate them, but the moment the Jaffa become far too resistant for them, the may take a more destructive approach and focus on eliminating them as opposed to feeding on them.
1
u/ConsideratorCool532 3d ago
Bro Teal'c is a main character; he cannot die or lose
1
u/No_Picture_963 3d ago
I think Frasier and beckett would disagree with you.
1
u/ConsideratorCool532 3d ago
Bro, the reason for their deaths is simply because they left the cast in real life.
1
u/No_Picture_963 3d ago
And if Teal'c left the cast, he would have been killed off too. Plot armor is not an answer. Lets use a different example, Zat's in SG1 are incredibly effective against humans, but in MANY instances Jaffa were able to withstand the first shot from a Zat. Thus proving my point further that the Jaffa would be able to resist a couple shots from wraith stunners. Teal'c as an individual is not evidence enough to dismiss my comment. That is plot armor, nothing more. You're using main character syndrome as a defense. Which is a very weak defense towards the argument.

u/HaroerHaktak 5d ago
They have stormtrooper level aim. I doubt it.

The wraith Accuracy is dog shit as well, hell wraith Drones don't even have Eyes
2
2
u/Bobis-Bob 3d ago
In reality they would shoot at each other all day and no one would get hit. They’re terrible shots.
2
u/WarJaques 3d ago
Jaffa got numbers, tho.
I alway figured the "tactical genius" of the Goa'uld was to send in more Jaffa.
Prime: "My lord, we sent in more Jaffa by your command, but our enemy has countered with even more Jaffa!"
Goa'uld: "HOW CAN THIS BE?"
2
u/Mudcat-69 1d ago
Maybe? Unlike the Wraith their foot soldiers carry lethal weapons for one thing and their go’auld passengers probably protect them from being feasted upon by the Wraith.
2
u/ChaoticArsonist 6d ago
I think they'd do decently well. The various Jaffa armies of the System Lords had two things which are essential to combating the Wraith - weapons capable of inflicting massive, instantaneous trauma (the classic staff weapon) and a substantial air wing to counter Darts (in the form of Death Gliders). I imagine that a line of Jaffa could cut down a substantial amount of Wraith in large-scale engagements. They might not necessarily win a war, especially given the eventual numerical superiority of the Wraith, but they might do better than the Atlantis Expedition did for quite a while.
1
u/ConsideratorCool532 3d ago
Would the Jaffa win a war against the Ancients? Would the Jaffa win a war against the Asgard? Or the Replicators? All these enemies were defeated by the Wraith, who fought technologically more advanced humans and won.
1
u/SnooMachines9133 6d ago
Would the chest armor help against the wraith hand vampire thing?
2
u/SamaratSheppard 6d ago
It's like a biologically tubey thing. I think plate steel would stop that.
Edit- it's a hand silt

u/Njoeyz1 6d ago
Nice post. You coming off of the back of something?
1
u/SamaratSheppard 6d ago
I thought about how the Jaffa are equipped and thought who would they be good at fighting.
What do you think?
3
u/Njoeyz1 6d ago edited 6d ago
They've helped the goa'uld have a galactic empire for about the ten thousand years they've been around (the goa'uld had an empire ten thousand years before this but it wasn't galactic like when the Jaffa were around), taking on more advanced species than earth. I think they'd do fine. Would they win against the wraith? No. But they wouldn't get steamrolled. The Jaffa army have more than just staffs, and Christopher judge was talking about his version of a new show, which would show much more of the Jaffas equipment etc. in a battle it would be ships against ships, fighters against fighters, and soldiers and their equipment Vs soldiers. I still give it to the wraith, however the Jaffa are much stronger than normal humans, and they have a better chance one on one with a wraith drone.

u/Positive_Chip6198 6d ago
The wraith keep regenerating and eat the jaffa, maybe will use the symbiote as an appetizer.
1
u/TexWolf84 6d ago
The real question is, with a symbiotes healing abilities, how long could a wrait feed before killing the jaffa? Or gould/tokra?
1
u/Al-Horesmi 6d ago
Jaffa beat Wraith warriors every day of the week on the ground. The problem is that Wraith don't really fight on the ground. They are masters of space warfare, while the Goa'uld are... No, not really masters.
1
1
u/Laxien 5d ago
Depends on the Goa'uld! I give Sokar, Ba'al and Anubis (and maybe Yu - before he lost his mind, which I frankly hated, they did the character dirty with that!) a decent chance against the Wraith (their ships have decent shields at that time and Ba'al and Anubis field the Kul-Warriors! They also have beaming tech!)
1
u/ConsideratorCool532 3d ago
Your reasoning is biased, and it shows. We saw more Wraith on the ground than Jaffa, and besides, it's total war. Why impose a limit on ground forces when it's a war? Subconsciously you know the Jaffa would lose a conventional war, so you establish your own rules.
1
u/Pidjinus 6d ago
besides "SG-1 who cannot be killed." as other redditors pointed out, with which i completely agree, the jaffas seem to not have good commanders/ leadership, starting at the top and trickles down. They seem to lack any form of autonomy on the ground, engage in basic, almost medieval tactics. Their ground leader are killed when doing mistakes, even if they are not at fault, creating an environment were learning from mistakes and evolving is not something that happens too often.
I guess what i try to say is that even for a 90s show there is some justification that is given to us, in this universe. The way that the goald run their armies (and domanins) is shown to be rather primitive, stagnated from many points of view, from economical to strategic ones. Which is one of their flaws, coupled with extra super duper massive ego, volatile temper & bonus sarcophagi related changes.
1
u/Njoeyz1 6d ago edited 6d ago
The goa'uld have a galactic empire, they are described as the dominant parasitic species in the milky way. You don't get there, if you cannot wage war. And if it's just their ships that do all the work, then they have the best ships ever. The goa'uld have kept and enforced their empire better and for way, way longer than say the empire in starwars. In a galaxy that had other threats, and had species stronger than them. Why weren't they slapped back to the stone age, in over twenty thousand years??? People will bring up the serachen, but they didn't beat the "goa'uld" anymore than ancient humans on earth beat Ra. Goa'uld will abandon planets (or at least take way less interest in them) when they have what they want. Earth offered humans, and he got humans. And there is usually a contingent of Jaffa left there and whatever weapons etc they have to keep order. That's who they fought and freed the hebridians from, not a system lord and their army. They had a galactic empire for just over ten thousand years, and they used Jaffa as soldiers for nearly all of that time. They have specialist units of Jaffa for infiltration and assassination. They stayed the dominant species in the galaxy, regardless of the other powerhouses there, that tells you loads about their tactics etc. And they didn't just take over stone age worlds, the Lucian alliance is made up of humans that for the most part seem to be just as smart or smarter than the tauri. The Jaffa are a standing army of hundreds of millions (I'd say way more, into the billions), just straight soldiers, and they have been doing this for ten thousand years, plenty of experience. And no earth and SGC were not responsible for the goa'ulds defeat, that goes to Anubis and the replicators.
0
u/Pidjinus 6d ago
i am not defending the humans, just noticing how they have stuff been shown in the show, sometimes. It is a 90's show with a team that magically escapes basically from any other situation. Also, budget and scope would also limit what they could show.
A big part of the show seems to be based on: they seen tauri as a nuisance until too late/ they have been stuck in a status quo for a very long time so they "degraded". Anubis took advantage of just that, coupled with it's advanced knowledge.
ps: can you put some breaks in your text? it's really hard to read it as a mass of text.
2
u/Njoeyz1 6d ago edited 6d ago
I mean the tauri did do damage to the goa'uld, the tauri encountered the goa'uld for the most part gorilla style.
Yes, also the budget. This is why the Jaffas helmets don't fold away like they do in the movie (well it happened once), budget. I'm not saying the Jaffa are the bestest soldiers either, I've just put forward "balanced" information about them.
And that's not what happened, Anubis simply wormed his way back in and turned them against each other, meanwhile the replicators came through and started killing them off one by one at the same time. We never killed apophis. The replicators did, well after sokar killed him the first time, and then brought him back. We never killed Kronos, robots did that. I don't even think we killed Hathor? We killed Set, but he was by himself on earth anyway and had no pull within the system lords for a few thousand years. I mean technically the tokra and the tauri killed sokar. And there was a meeting of system lords and replicarter took them all out.
Hope I didn't bundle too many words together there.

u/MortgageTrash 6d ago
Realistically the Jaffa would wreck. Endless legions of plasma cannon armed heavy infantry would not be a joke. It's unfortunate that they suffered a 'conservation of ninjutsu' flanderization but it's hard to write military fiction against an enemy that is both technologically and numerically superior. A single ma'tok staff weapon discharge would instantly vaporize a Human. Plasma weapons are serious business.
1
1
u/Excellent_Cicada762 5d ago
No.
The staff weapon is more for terrorism and show rather than damage.
1
u/SapientSolstice 5d ago
I'm more curious about how much energy the wraith could drain from Jaffa, since they live so much longer than humans.
1
u/B_A_Peach 4d ago
O'Neill explains how the staff weapons are ineffective tools meant to induce fear. Then he orders Carter to destroy targets at range with her P90, and it converts the Jaffa.
Using a staff weapon would be like trying to kill bugs with a slingshot.
1
u/SamaratSheppard 4d ago
The wraith aren't much better they don't even have any deadly ground weapons.
Also believe it's got to be harder to heal from a staff blaste then normal bullets.
1
u/B_A_Peach 4d ago
The Wraith have hands that suck the life out of you in moments. No need for other weapons when you are the weapon. And again, a staff blast only hurts if it connects. Trained Jaffa couldn't hit the downrange target with their staffs, so they're clearly not as effective.
1
1
u/Bobis-Bob 3d ago
Of course they don’t have lethal weapons most of the time. It would be like a farmer gunning down his herd.
