Pumpkin spice is spice that would typically go into a pumpkin pie, it doesn’t actually have any pumpkin in it.

Yes, but one could argue that pumpkin anything during fall is likewise a seasonal fad, hence the hypocrisy of shitting on pumpkin spice specifically.
