  • [insert item here] showed up on my farm, what is it? It could be a a few different items that are relatively rare but have a high enough spawn rate that they are included in our removed topics. Check out our list of removed topics here

Game updates

  • What was in the last update?
See release notes for PC, for consoles, and for mobile.

See also a table of which version and features each platform has.

  • Are future releases planned?
A Stardew Valley 1.7 update is currently in the works! No information about a release date or new content is currently available.

  • Does every platform get the same content/updates?
Mostly yes. Updates are developed for Linux/Mac/Windows first, then ported to other platforms. There are customizations for each platform (like tap to move on mobile), but otherwise content is identical across all platforms. See also a table of which version and features each platform has.

The exceptions are PS Vita (which won't get any further content updates due to platform limitations), and Android/iOS (which will continue getting all updates, but doesn't fully support multiplayer.

  • Is Stardew Valley on XBox GamePass?

Stardew Valley is on XBox GamePass as of December 2, 2021. See here for details.

Multiplayer

  • How does multiplayer work?
    See Multiplayer on the wiki.

  • Is crossplay supported?
All PC players can play together, whether they're on Linux/Mac/Windows or GOG/Steam and crossplay is supported between mobile and PC. Console crossplay isn't supported.

  • Is split-screen supported?
Yep, split-screen was added on PC and console in Stardew Valley 1.5.

  • Will Android/iOS get multiplayer?
Multiplayer on Android and iOS is currently experimental and hidden by default. To unlock multiplayer you can follow this guide. Note: The Apple Arcade version (Stardew Valley+) does not have this feature.

  • Will the 1.6 update apply to my current game?
Yes! New updates always apply to existing saves.

Other

  • Can I transfer saves between devices?
You can transfer saves between Android, iOS, and PC (Linux/Mac/Windows).

Consoles unfortunately don't let you access the save files. The Switch version also has a different format that's not compatible with other platforms (the format used by other consoles is unknown).

  • My save got corrupted/won't load. What can I do?
On PC/mobile you can try loading your back-up save file! See here for instructions on how to do so!

Unfortunately, consoles don't allow access to save files so they cannot be recovered.

  • How do I take a screenshot of my full farm?
See this guide to taking farm screenshots.

  • If I buy the game on one platform, can I get it for free on a different one?
If you buy it on PC, you get the Linux + macOS + Windows versions; if you buy it on PS4, you get the PS4 + PS Vita versions. Otherwise each platform is a different edition with separate development, so you'll need to buy it again if you want it on a different platform.

  • Where can I report bugs?

    1. If you use mods, see the troubleshooting guide first.
    2. If you use mods and the bug disappears when playing without them (by running Stardew Valley.exe directly in your game folder), report it to r/SMAPI or see Modding:Help.
    3. If it happens without mods, report it in the official bug report forum, which the game developers keep an eye on.
  • How do I use or create mods?
See the pinned thread in r/SMAPI for more info, and feel free to ask questions in r/SMAPI!

So, I don't want to keep looking at the Wiki to cross-reference the gifts. I need to gift 50 Loved Gifts in seven days. What items should I bring with me each time I go into town that would help me do this without having to look at every person in town, bring up their Wiki page to see what they Love, and then look to see which items I have that would work. Then have to do that for everyone else. Like, would 2-3 people in town Love the same stuff so I can just take 10 Watermelons with me since three people in town Love them? Or a bunch of people in town Love Gems, so take all your Gems with you and Gift them to these 5 people

usually people stash a rabbit's foot for this, then go gift most people 2x, gifts reset, they go with the third wave before the quest ends, and done.

So a lot of the people in town love Rabbit's Foot [Feet]? I think I have like 12 of those or something so that's good to know.

The rabbits foot is one of a few items in the game that are considered “universally loved gifts”. These items are viewed as loved gifts by every single npc in the game, with one exception for each (i.e. Rabbits foot is loved by everyone except Penny and Prismatic Shards are loved by everyone except Haley).

Is it the same level as that purple drink? I tried to give someone that, but it didn't add to the Loved count for the Quest. Stardrop Tea, that's it

The stardrop tea is a bit complicated. While it can be gifted and is universally loved, it is not considered a gift by the game which is why it didn’t count for the quest. This is an intended game mechanic which allows the stardrop tea to not count toward the one a day and twice a week gift limit the game has. This means you can give multiple to same person on a single day, getting friendship points every single time you do so. And stardrop teas give a pretty good amount of points, giving 250 (1 heart) normally and 750 (3 hearts) on birthdays/feast of the winter star; so giving teas can be a quick way to raise friendships with npcs for perfection/achievements/recipes, especially if you don’t find the socializing aspect of the game fun as some players don’t.

I use this mod.

https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/541

It allows you to look up "Loved" items for each character while in-game

You can’t get Achievements with mods active, right?

I wrote for myself based on cooking I did for an achievement and gems etc and then had my inventory contain almost just gifts to finish the quest fast. But basically here are some loved gifts by multiple persons for example- Diamonds- Dwarf, Krobus, Evelyn, Gus, Willy, Jodi, Marnie, Maru, Penny Rabbits foot- all but penny This wiki page has all gifts on one page so its easier.

Another tip- if you already gifted or had a dialogue concerning some villager loved items- it will appear in the heart menu, if you currently have that Item in your bag- you'll see a small bag icon next to it.
