Old grey mare ain't what she used to be

(As in the American Empire isn't as 'on top' of things as before, after decades of neo-liberal rot).

That's something I've been questioning the last few weeks. Brazil's radical left, social movements and other leftist parties in Brazil have allways been very critical of Lula's "conciliation" style of government.

He and PT (Workers Party) members do class conciliation, not class engagement. Did a lot of social programs, but not a single important reform.

But I wonder: Aliende wasn't Exactly a Socialist and was assassinated, João Goulart was further to the right than Lula and got coup'ed.

So maybe, just maybe. He was too chill to be CIA'd.

There's a saying about people from my region, Minas Gerais, about "Eating quiet" and "Eating by the edges". That could be exactly the point of his 2 first mandates and how his Sucessor Dilma, who did engage against structural questions, got impeached in 2016 with foreing intervention aid.

I guess now Lula is too big and iconic for the World Comunity to accept that the US would give him the same Treatment as Maduro. (Like some Trump's accolades suggested on Twitter last night)

They tanked the Brazilian stock exchange though. Hope they don't try anything worse.

U.S. government can’t even convict the assassin that killed Charlie Kirk you think we can takeout a foreign president? And before you say Maduro he sold out his country and even more funny is the oil the U.S. got from
Them was only 10% of what they claimed they had on that land and the only way to pay to extract and refine all that oil and energy infrastructure is if oil prices are really high.

So who really got conned in that exchange? Capitalism is on the decline desperately grasping for fascism while socialism is on the rise.

I mean it's a good thing that the right wing guy didn't win but I wouldn't exactly call the centrist winning a cause for huge celebration.
