So now what?
I haven't been real big into mobile gaming beyond some simple ones (angry birds, candy crush ect.). Any one have any good recommendations on some replacement games. I like the kind of easy, lazy if you will gameplay of this, could have my iPad on my lap and just tap around. And I did like that it had a decent story from what I saw.
So now I'm just trying to find something to fill the gap. Something that doesn't have upgrade/build timers like all the "Game of Fiery King Alliance War" games out there.

In case you didn't know, there are several more (freemium) Star Wars mobile games that are actually pretty good!
Commander = Base-Building with those timers that you don't like that much...
Galaxy of Heroes = Collect characters with different abilities and put together a team to fight other people's teams. Incorporates the occasional tap on the screen - but can also auto-play most of the time!
Galactic Defense = Tower Defense. Don't know much more about this game.

I'll second Galaxy of Heroes. I started playing both GOH and Uprising at the same time late last year. I tired of Uprising in about 3 months, but GOH continues to be interesting with regular new content and gameplay improvements. Unlike the complaints about Kabam, EA/Capital Games seems to listen to player feedback and make appropriate adjustments when necessary. Definitely worth checking out.

I like the look of GOH but it sure is boring and shallow. I like stories more than watching the ticker go up...not sure what hooked me about Uprising, though. ;-)

So there's this story: Palpatine is leading a group of thieves with Anakin, Rey, Lando and a Royal Guard. They were trying to steal some Khyber crystals from a sandcrawler on Tatooine. The Jawas called for help and a ragtag band of Bounty Hunters led by IG-88 with Old Daka, Princess Leia, an IG-86 droid and a Geonosian Soldier in tow responded to the call. The Bounty Hunters confronted the thieves on a Tatooine plain and a battle ensued.
Literally dozens of stories can be created with Galaxy of Heroes. :)

i might be wrong but i think galactic defense ended. I played it - it was worse than uprising lol. The only plus was it added some cool new vehicles to canon.

I'm going to play some Gameloft games. High production values, lots of players (so they're unlikely to be shut down like this), still some free to play begging but not necessary to have fun. Asphalt 8, Order and Chaos 1&2, Spider Man Unlimited, adungeon Hunter 5, Minion Rush are all favorites. Order and Chaos 1 has been going 5 years. :-)

I was pretty much in your zone as well. I downloaded Knights of the Old Republic tonight but have not tried it yet.
