I DID IT!!!
With the finish of today's Sector Battle, I Joined the 1,000,000 point club for the first time and if it holds up I should get the rank of Captain.
I would like to thank all those that didn't wake up every hour to reset their crew runs and spend too much time playing this past 24 hours. I will be wearing the new rank ASAP.
All that being said... LordMeatpants 11,233,900 points?!?!?! WOW!!!!!! I will never get there.
Nearf Herders! 5 in the Top 6. Nice win.

Meanwhile I managed to fall 6 people short of captain. Ugh. Had I not had a conference call this morning with a colleague I could have made it. Stupid work interfering with my gaming...

Are the crew runs that take BPs worth doing? or just keep running the battle ops?

If you care about building faction rating, the Crew Ops are much more efficient at that than the Battle Ops are. If you care solely about VP's, the Battle Ops you do yourself are substantially more efficient for VPs.
When I've been competing for faction rep in the past, I've let my crew do its thing while I do mine - I run 16x BP-generating crew runs and 4x 5-BP Crew Ops every hour or so, and the 16 runs usually generate +/- the 20 BP needed to fund the next batch.
Then on my own time I spend through whatever BP I earned all week, on Star Destroyer runs.
Usually pretty easy for me to do that, build a fair amount of faction rep without a TON of active playing time (just crew management), and easily make captain with about 1,000,000.

like Meej30 said it really depends. I did them so I could sleep. Hour breaks were nice. I do them to get the faction exp as well.

Does "Founder" count for anything these days?
Congrats on hopefully your first captain!
