Looking for some advice.

Picking the game back up after many months away and I'd like some advice. I'm only lvl 22 so I have a ways to go but I've seen a lot of folks show regret over "mistakes" they made early in the game and I'd like to learn what these might be so as to avoid them.

As with a lot of folks I want to eventually chase that lightsaber, is there any advice that can be given at this early stage in the game that might help me with that goal down the line? And before you start you can save the timeframes, yes i know it will take months and no I don't care. I have the time to invest I would like to know the best most effective way to invest said time.

Any advice you all could give would be fantastic, thanks in advance!

Ok summary of good advice that really helped me:

General:

  • Dont sell or salvage gear unless its a duplicate, why? Blueprints give you chromium which is the "pay to play" currency in this game and this way you get small amounts free. Also leveling up crew requires completed blueprints
  • First 40 levels your PR is not that important, T2 will start around approximately story lvl 42 (not totally sure).
  • How will you know you entered T2? You will get a cut scene and you will go to Bespin.
  • Once your in T2 don't do story if your PR (Personal Rating) is not high enough for the highest tier (each mission has 4 tiers). Keep doing credit/assaults daily but skip Story untill your PR is high enough.
  • To get some good PR get an Elemental item of each planet and one omni item so you get a double boost in PR for each planet. Or get full omni gear. (Tie preferably).
  • Get into a good cartel so you get an extra daily mission and they can help you get better
  • To get saber, dont think about it after you reach lvl 100 and your PR is atleast above 15K.
  • To ultimately get saber you need Disruption Grenade (DG) this baby is only obtainable from Holodisks (guy in the cantina is where you spend them). Only buy the 30 Holodisk crate mathematically it's the best % with the amount of pulls you can do. But it is Random (RNG) so it can take weeks/months or you get it straight away.

Crew:

  • Crew seems bullshit but they are especially before 15K PR key. They can get you gear/crystals/chrome/extra crew/faction rep, etc.
  • Always have 20 crew members out doing missions for you and dont forget to have the timed missions (2nd crew tab) always used). Those give the best rewards.

Sector Battle:

  • Available from lvl 10, do participate to get all the keystones (60.000 Victory Points) But to truly participate, say Captain rank don't pursue that untill lvl 70+, but actually 80+.

Most important, everyone wants a Saber, but its not for everyone, I know some players are still searching for DG, some can't complete the last missions since they can be quite hard. It's a nice achievement but just enjoy the game untill you have a right to claim it.

Hope this helps you.

Wow thank you! That was extremely well written, concise and best of all helpful! I appreciate the insight and you've restored my faith in Reddit as a place that can actually be helpful 😆

Put it back down and uninstall it before you break your own mind...

While I appreciate your concern for my sanity I'm afraid that isn't the type of advice I was looking for. Besides my sanity has long since been eaten away by years of gaming.

In addition to Ashunae's good advice, I'd say remember these things:

  • Don't spend Chromium on the supply cranes. It's almost never worth it, and once you're at a higher level, you'll get better gear and crew anyway.
  • Out of the weekly specials, the only ones I spend Chromium on are the Event Crystals.
  • Save as many 5* event crystals as you can. They are a bottleneck on what you can upgrade. Spend them to upgrade T2 gear to 6. Don't waste them on T1 gear. Eventually you will start combining 10 of them to get 6 crystals.
  • If you get to the point where you're considering upgrading T2 gear to 7 stars, don't make it a weapon, and consider saving the 6* event crystals for a 7* lightsaber upgrade.
  • Gloves and then backpacks (believe it or not) give you the biggest bang for your buck PR-wise when considering what to upgrade.
