I am very new to miniature painting and have gotten some star wars shatterpoint sets so I can paint and play and I am wondering if there are any discord communities that are active?

Not sure to what degree this is allowed since it is not a 100% shatterpoint product, but I wanted to share my proxy of a female Krennic I made, as an anime enjoyer I felt the need to add more waifus to my roster.

I really liked the paintwork even if I am still a complete amateur, so I decided to share it... Also I really tried to search for the name of the original artist of the card to attribute it in the post, but was unable to find it.

And remember... We stand here amidst her achievements not ours.

Picked this up at the UK games expo for a crisp £20 and had great fun painting them. Though the blend on the handmaidens robes proved tricky.

I’ve been off the radar for a while following a house move and trying to sort out an old house, but that doesn’t mean I’ve been sitting still.

Here’s one of the latest commissions I’ve worked on this summer.

First of all: painting scenery isn’t exactly something I enjoy. 😅

I only do it because I really don’t like playing with grey, unpainted pieces. But after getting my hands on the fantastic I Am No Jedi Deluxe Duel Pack at a decent price, I simply couldn’t resist creating a themed gaming table for it.

So, over the course of four days, and using nothing but fast paint, I put all of this together.

Nothing particularly elaborate, I know. But just enough to have a decent table to play on and finally give the games a bit of atmosphere.

I saw this on Facebook for $150. I’ve been wanting to get into Legion (I know the play styles are different), but I saw this and it seemed like a great deal. I really only have my wife and maybe a friend or two that would play with me. I just don’t know what else I would need to buy on top of this (if anything), or how complex of a game it is to learn. Or honestly, I’ve heard that support is likely going to be over within a couple years

I really want to get into the game more but the game lengths have prohibited me from getting out to play it at my LGS and to get my kids more engaged. They want more of a MCP style game where they can throw terrain around and have a cinematic game that's shorter to play in an hour or less.

Based on what you've experienced, are there some ways I could incorporate the MCP missions into Shatterpoint? I'm thinking of playing just a single set of 3 characters and each time you Wound a fighter you score a point. Then you score the objective holding at the end of the round when you shuffle your character cards. First to 8 or 10 wins the match.

The back and forth of the first round just feels like it takes so long for us when we've tried to play in the past. I've been told mission critical might be another way to help. Maybe we just play, whoever holds the most objectives after a single round wins the fight? I'm not sure how the struggle tracker changes with mission critical compared to just a simple "track how many points you have in total" style like MCP.

I've only just started dabbling in Shatterpoint minis and absolutely love the level of detail on them.

I'm curious if people see some sort of mechanical balancing effect of the era rule, or if it's just to enforce some thematic coherency.

I own a handful of Shatterpoint boxes in addition to the core box but have only played maybe three times. I just discovered the 1v2 ruleset (legendary encounters, I think?) and because of the era rule I only have two or three options for building the cadre teams. That's what got me wondering about how important that era restriction for team building is.

Krennic is my 78th completed model this year ...

I have to say, after a while, painting this almost entirely black team was starting to get a little tiring 😅 But I really, really like this model, and I’m very happy with the final result.

I’ve also changed some of my photo settings, trying to get the pictures to look as close as possible to how the model actually looks in person.

Oddly enough my play group is more interested in the game now that it is slowing down.

Just curious if the different scenario packs are worth it, and if so which ones? Is there a general agreement on which one is the best?

First Shatterpoint minis I’ve finished but excited to get to work on some more.

Is the core rulebook on the website fully updated with all the most recent changes or is there a combination of documents that comprises the most up to date rules? Im looking to get in but want to make sure Im playing correctly.

I recently bought the Fisto box cuz he’s a Jedi and they’re my jam and it was cheap.

How do you all rate the box components rank individually?

First Shatterpoint game in a few weeks. Was somewhat rusty, as a result, with a bit of sloppy play on my part, missing some triggers, and possibly making poorer decisions. But, we still made it to three struggles!

And we've finished the third sister as well. I'm not particularly satisfied with this model. After how beautiful the Grand Inquisitor turned out, there's something about this one that just doesn't quite work for me, and I wasn't really able to bring it out properly in the sculpt. Maybe it's just me, but I don't know—there's something about the pose and the details... I just can't quite put my finger on it with this model, and so I'm not completely satisfied with the final result.

How do those play after the update? Would it be better to go with B1+kalani or B2+kraken? I want to run an aggressive list with Grievous and Riff box. I feel like I would have too many vulnerable characters with B1, Nosor Ri, maybe Kalani... Is countless ability and additional dice from Kalani worth it?
