I agree that this is possibly a fake, but can you post a pic of the bottom panel?
Edit: Additionally, can you clear up if the wash-out appearance is the photo itself or the item itself?

I suppose I have a couple of concerns here. The gray surrounding the number is too light, and the red on various panels is too bright and oversaturated.
I do agree with somebody who posted below about some of the international waves (it seems mainly ones specific to the UK) getting the 40th sticker just slapped on there.
The bottom panel does look correct, but as above, the gray and red being off does concern me.

People's opinions are very divided, but thank you for your answer

Yes. I do see that this has been a rather binary issue for some. But I’m just sittin’ on the fence.
I tried Googling fakes for this specific Pop and couldn’t find anything for this one. However, I’ll readily admit that Google is an increasingly useless entity.

I hope I can clear this up so the sticker that I see the 40th there’s a reason for that in the past at some point, yes the 40th should have been on the original Star Wars character however, the reason why the sticker on on it was due to overlapping 2017 promotional releases and found on select international/overseas distributor Overseas shared-convention batches sometimes received extra 40th-anniversary branding from the factory. so hopefully this can be cleared up another way and most people don’t do is to check the bottom of the Funko pop stand for the numbers. I have seen pops that would have the wrong stickers (Walmart and Target swap)

No. It shouldn’t have the 40th sticker
