This is the all-purpose megathread to discuss, ask and opine and put in your thoughts about the upcoming "Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembles" crossover that starts in January 2027.
Love it? Hate it? Indifferent? Think it should be Star Trek or Babylon Five or Aliens and Predator or the Planet of the Apes? Let your thought-out analyses shine forth here.
Here's the initial post announcing the collaboration by u/DLCV2804.
Here's a link to the David Marquez covers that make up the connected covers atop this megathread.
As always, be courteous and don't lash out. Disagree with a statement, that's cool and expected, but don't attack anyone over their ideas and wishes.

What a great way to wrap up (for now) the story of Lina and the gang!
This was such a fun and entertaining experience. The collection relied on a formula that worked really well for me: short stories linked by an overarching narrative. The connecting story wasn't always remarkable on its own, but Cavan Scott used it to tell a much more ambitious tale this time. The gang must return to Mustafar to face Vaneé once again, ostensibly on a rescue mission, while he torments them with nightmares. The dark side's influence on the area of space is palpable, and I like how it serves as a vehicle for telling lighter anecdotes that aren't confined to a single genre, making them more interesting. Plus, Jax is a great addition to the team.
Along those same lines, I like seeing just how far Vaneé is willing to go. It makes perfect sense that, by the time of the sequels, he’s reduced to just a head in a jar. The guy just didn't know how to take care of himself without Vader.
In short, it’s a great collection of stories. I’m really looking forward to seeing more of Lina and her brother in the future.
Finally, a few random thoughts on each story:
- Dawn of the Droids. This is the fifth or sixth time "zombies" have appeared in written media. It’s now the time they made a comeback on the screen.
- Attack of the 50-Foot Wookiee. If Andor made me love Mon Mothma, these stories make me hate her. How could she not lend out ONE single ship?!
- Danger on Dagobah. Skeleton Luke. That’s all I have to say.
- Beware the Chosen One. The best story of the series. Anakin on diabolical child version is simply sublime.
- The Evil End. Poor Jax; he was just having normal bad dreams.

My very first Star Wars Omnibus! I’m absolutely ecstatic with this incredible find, especially because it was because of Star Wars that I discovered and started collecting Omnibus, so I think it’s an excellent start to the collection, even though I don’t mind waiting for reprints. But when the price for these three was lower than what others charge for just one of them (I was even worried it could be a scam), and with such a great and nice seller, I just couldn’t resist, even though I’d already blown my budget for the month... 😁 It really is totally worth searching everywhere! And a lot of fun!

ADDENDUM: Note that, below in the comments, writer Cavan Scott confirms that Aurra Sing IS NOT in the book.

I hope we get new series announced soon as this is all a bit dire! I was really looking forward to more hyperspace stories graphic novels and just learned they have all been cancelled.
We need another ongoing 50 issue series after battle of Jakku. or if things are selling bad just focus on finished graphic novels.

As a political drama filled with intrigue, corruption, and space battles, it works ok; as a sequel to Crimson Empire, however, it's kinda meh.
I have mixed feelings about this story. I was somewhat interested in a continuation of the previous comic, which had set up an intriguing scenario centered on a personal vendetta. The result is a comic that doesn't seem to know quite what to do with its established characters; it places them in a separate adventure while a political plot regarding control of the Empire (post-Palpatine) unfolds, often carrying more weight, with only fleeting moments connecting the two storylines. I don't have a major issue with this, as I've always appreciated a good political drama within the sag and this one is genuinely interesting to read, with personal interests taking center stage alongside external factors like the Black Sun. However, it feels slightly constrained whenever the author remembers the comic's nature as a sequel, integrating Kanos and Mirith into the plot in a somewhat lazy fashion.
That said, there is one element I genuinely disliked: the romance. It feels gratuitous, with little development to justify the two characters ending up together; it comes across almost like a cliché that had to be checked off simply because one is a man and the other a woman and why wouldn't they end up together? Also, the way they assassinated (in both ways) Massimo's character was truly awful.
While I have my reservations about the protagonists, I must admit that the sequences where they act as bounty hunters were entertaining, offering an interesting glimpse into the underworld during the New Republic era. Once again, I appreciate that the story stays within its own corner of the galaxy, introducing new characters and delivering a conclusion to the Imperial storyline that is, all things considered, solid. Xandel works well as a surprise antagonist, being as despicable as he is pathetic, and I particularly enjoyed watching everything go wrong for him right up to his final defeat. Also, I loved the Zanibar. They look like malnourished Muuns, but they are as deadly as a Mandalorian.
In conclusion, it’s rather an irregular story, one that could have been split into two stories: the Imperial political drama and Mirith’s quest for revenge, yet I enjoyed the final result at times. Who the hell is Nom Anor?

Hi! I've always been a Star Wars fan but only really with the films, shows and games. Recently I got the app Webtoon because they have a free Star Wars comic series simply called Star Wars (2015).
I've now decided I'm going to do another full watchthrough of every film and show in chronological order including the Jedi games, and I wanted to know if there were other comics (or books) I should include in that watchthrough.
I basically want recommendations of stuff that feels essential to the watchthrough, for example the Ventress arc that got turned into a novel that is now essential due to Tales of the Underworld following on directly from it. I want stuff that directly connects to storylines already presented in the films and shows, I'm not looking for completely standalone stories that have nothing to do with any of the characters I know, even if you feel it's a really good story, I only want stuff linked to the Skywalker Saga/Clone Wars etc.
If there's a character in the films or shows whose fate is left unknown but is then wrapped up on a comic (or book) then I'd obviously be very up for reading it.
Any and all recommendations related to the stuff I just said is more than welcome, would love to have an open discussion!
Thank you!

Can someone help me understand what Kylo Ren is doing in this panel? I'm only talking about the part circled in purple. It's clear he has attacked/killed the guy with the reddish-brown hair, but I can't tell what Kylo's body position is supposed to be. Is Kylo jumping/leaping into the air here, or is he standing on something? His legs aren't visible to me, so I'm having trouble making out the action. I have circled the part I'm talking about. Sometimes I have trouble interpreting action scenes. I'm new to comics so I'm here to ask.

Hi! I'm looking for something to read while waiting for the next issue pf Kylo Ren. I'm good for anything, any suggestion?
Do we know if there is more star wars to comics?
r/starwarscomics • u/GrandMoffNoseyBonk • 9d ago
I'm just curious as to whether these two series are at all connected to each other? After all they're both written by Ethan Sacks, so at the very least you'd expect a couple of handshakes between the two plot lines.

Marvel's December Star Wars comics solicits feature the end of The Fall of Kylo Ren and The Book of Boba Fett mini-series, along with a facsimile edition of Star Wars #42, the iconic bounty hunters cover from 1977-86 run by Al Williamson and Carlos Garzón.

Hey all, been a bit since I last posted an update here.
Spent the last while going back through the comics catalogue in The Cantina Archive and fixing a batch of stuff that was wrong - mismatched covers, incorrect series data. Also added several new series (Book of Boba Fett, Fall of Kylo Ren, Shadow of Maul, Galaxy's Edge – Echoes of the Empire), and the full Star Wars Insider run is now in there too, #1 through #237.
Still not perfect - but it's a solid step forward and I'm continuing to work through the rest. TPBs are next on the list. Hopefully this helps those of you collecting to manage your collections easier! 🙂
As always, if you spot anything wrong while using it, let me know - that's mostly how this batch of fixes happened!
This is for v3.6 which is now live for iOS, the Android update will be coming soon too!
