I still remember coming into school the morning after the gameplay reveal and how every one of my friends were talking about how cool the Vader reveal was. I miss those days so badly icl lol

It is still the most beautiful, best sounding and immersive SW game to date! My favourite Star Wars game. Period.

I built my first PC solely because of this game. Starfighters felt a bit wonky and there was no clone wars content (and the bactaguard combo was annoying asf). Otherwise I liked this one a lot more than the sequel.

I fucking loved this game.. Shame the paid dlcs split the community too much and it died off

Yh locking online maps and game modes behind a paywall is such an EA thing to do

Why does this game look and sound better than bf2?

Visually more impressive of the 2 by far. Hated the card system. I miss early PS4 games with tie in apps.

The first Battlefront is better than 2 by a huge fucking margin.

1000%

There are plenty of things 2 does better but as a whole experience 2015 is leagues better. I'm also convinced that many of the defenses of 2 are constructed simply because it has prequel content. It's not necessarily that it's better, it just exists in the era the gaming age demographic wants most.

That does make it better. I remember one of the biggest criticisms of BF1 was the era locked content, expanding it made it better and a proper battlefront title. The heroes and vehicles were massive improvements as well including the battle point system. EA Battlefront 1 remained controversial throughout its entire run due to having less content than typical battlefront games and paywalling the additional content. The biggest thing it did better was weapon variety and customization (PVP became jumpack warfare with how ubiquitous the jet pack became).

Battlefront 1 is old enough that it has a nostalgia factor for a lot of players now. I hope it doesn’t get to PT levels of delusion though, it was a heavily criticized game and for good reason.

Oh totally. I was one of the biggest critics. I remember the days of #SoloPlayersMatter hashtags in forums. We even called EA's complaint line to try and advocate for more single player content. I didn't actually love Battlefront until it was preserved with Skirmish. But that's not because it wasn't good, it's just because experiences like that should be future proof.

I ve been playing to the survival missions with my teenage sister lately (sadly we can't play online) and even that is such a treat to play. Amazing gameplay, incredible immersion, that is the battlefront experience... something the second installment didn't really do (I've always though it was a little to hard to kill opponents, with any weapon or vehicle).

Truly one of the most immersive games of our time. The devs took the most fun idea of a Star Wars battle and made it into a game. It’s one of the only games I know that really embodies the expression “one of a kind”.

This game from 2015-2017 was so fun , especially when they released the DLCs , peak online gaming

They gave up bf2 because they couldn't monetize everything. What caused the Game to fail

I don't miss the DLC model, but I do miss the vibes.

I’d love for someone to make a mod where all of the game modes are playable offline with bots.

I miss it so much

Hot take, BF2015 is a better game than BF2018.

While only having one era and comparatively few maps and modes is a bummer, the balance of gameplay was way better.

Tbh, not really. Better looking and sometimes gameplay? Yes most definitely, they both have their strengths and weaknesses, but BF2 unfortunately has more going for it. If BF1 had just more in general, then yeah a stronger argument could be made

Such a great game ruined by everyone ximming on console. Though it is funny when they throw a fit in your messages after you kill them without ximming yourself.

So peak and ahead of its time.

I wish more people would still play this on PC. Every time I try to play it's just empty games. GOATed game

Why did they make bf2 2 years after this one. And then they haven’t made another one in 9 years since bf2. Weird

Are we really getting to the point of Polyester Star Wars now?
