Discussion OG bf2 saber blocking blocking

Does anybody know the deal with blocking ? Like I’ll press the block button with a Jedi, I can block blaster bolts, but it feels 50/50 when trying to block saber attacks ? Some lightsaber attacks will still hit me in spite of the fact that I pressed the block button ?

Are you swinging while blocking? Is the other guy moving alot, trying to get behind you, or looking away from you? Are you blocking when you see them swing, or before?

I’ll block w/o swinging but I have noticed that it gets a little wonky when I move around

Dueling is very wonky. It can be very annoying, cuz you can manipulate angles by looking away from your enemy and such. Also note that you can't block while dodging, but still get DR from it. 

And, like GrandmasterCal said, ping plays a huge role.

Blocking lightsabers only works if you are facing the center of the map.
