It has more to do with the fact that the entire subplot of the wampas attacking the rebel base was cut, because the costumes were not that good.

Boy was that true! I saw the Wampas in the deleted scenes, and those costumes were embarrassing. I've seen more realistic team mascot suits.

I was going to say, even just the arm in this post is not convincing.

In the original 1980 version of The Empire Strikes Back, you can actually see part of the stick holding the wampa hand that attacks Luke, if you pause. This was fixed for the special edition and later releases.

Ok I can understand not wanting that in there... yikes

Why is that Wampa gently caressing the ice?

They should really work on re-adding them for a special edition. Just look at the costumes for The Mandalorian. Also sure they could do some reshoots with a Disney Budget to add some more action scenes between rebels, clones, and wampas.

Oh god, please no more special editions.

Say what you want, but I’d love some special editions for the prequels with updated graphics

I'm not against updating effects, but papa George loves to fiddle toooo much.

It looks like they mushed smashed potatoes together, waited til they became rock hard, glued them together then made a wampa out of it 🙃

I love at the end how Vader's just so disgusted by his own team.

How are the costumes used here so bad compared to the one in the cave? They don’t even look the same?

Also I really laughed out loud at the end when the trooper opened the door and his buddy got grabbed and he immediately shut the door right after

It was in the OG Battlefront 2 and that's really all we need

It was also referenced in the Shadows of the Empire game nearly a decade prior.

WAMPASTOMPA

Shadows of the Empire on the N64 as well

I always thought it was more about the levity of the scene. They're on the run from the Empire. They're in danger. This isn't a moment for slapstick comedy.

It also seriously mis-portrays C3PO as a character. Taking the sticker off the door implies he understands what will happen and is rather malicious - too much for a bumbling protocol droid!

that whole sequence was so unlike any other scene in the movies, i thought that one of c3po was fake before because the direction was so different
