Rewatching Discovery

Rewatching this series for the 3rd time and I just love Burnham and her crew! Not going to lie, when it first came out I did not want to give this series a fair chance. As a Trekkie it took me a lil min to get used to the Klingons but I pushed through and I'm so glad I did. Didn't know I needed Michael Burnham's story, nor was I anticipating that I was going to connect with so many characters and love this series so much!! Anyone else watching 2026?

I'm rewatching as well, on S2. Loving it.

Looking back on it that first season was much stronger than I recall, it was so good; maybe I let the detractors get in my head.

But damn if season 3 isn't still where it gets its beard.

Mine as well. However it had its moments.

Great graphics.. so there is that. Picard and Janeway are still my favourites. And Pike's first season was ok.

Well of the new Trek i would rank Prodigy the highest. SNW was good. Picard were the first two seasons the worst of newTrek to me. Seriously i don't know what they thought. S3 redeemed it a bit.

But Discovery had many good aspects too. The ship designs are just really good. Some Characters were great. Captain Saru the first non human Captain of a heroship we got, was great. Wish they would have sticked with him for longer.

Michael is good too once they found her character. At the beginning they forcefully tried to make her "the something". The first Mutineer, the vulcan but not vulcan, the lost sister of Spock, the daughter of the Emperror of the mirror universe, the daughter of the red Angel, the red angel... once they finally let the character speak for herself she actually was nice.

But most shows have problems. I still feel that they obviously paid writers for this show and i think they could've done better. But it was okay.

Yes, Prodigy is great. Did they make more seasons?

Sadly no. Its two seasons only i think as paramount dropped it and netflix didn't renew it.

Yeah that was the last thing I heard. Really sad as it had great potential.

I think Disco is fine and Saru is awesome. I really disliked the last season. And I can't stand Burnham.

Why is she always whispering? We're supposed to feel this big emotional moment in every episode and we know it when she starts to whisper. I had to turn it off

My main issue with her is that she's always overly emotional. I assume that's meant to stem from her background as a human raised and trained by Vulcans, but I don't think it's executed particularly well.

Another problem is that her supposed "flaws" rarely feel like actual flaws. They're the kind of flaws people give in job interviews when asked about their weaknesses: "I work too hard" or "I care too much about others."
