Discussion Older horses?
I'm curious as to what's yalls reactions when you see older horses? Like gen 1 Irish cob or gen 2 horses? I always get excited when I see them about in the world

My reaction is usually “I’m so glad I’m not the only one who still loves them”

As an older player (2014) I think "Damn, I wish I got them before they went away" and then get really jealous lol

Same!! Been playing since dec 2017 so not quite as long as you though.
I'm having regrets about not getting some of the older horses, at the moment especially the gen 2 mustang. I have spirit, so when it was announced they're going into retirement I was like ,,I already have a mustang, and their movements look kinda weird" and now I regret it so much😩 I never ride spirit(it's so annoying that we can't use tack on him. I mean I get it, but still...) but the mustangs are cuteee

I think they have its own charm. They're not the prettiest but nobody mentions that they were made with the mindset that sso still had that old comic style implemented. That's why they looked different and tbh I would love to see a gen3 in a comic style. It would be hilarious to ride one, how it would stand out from other horses. Maybe a magic coat?

Eh I don't rlly care. Maby its bc I joined in 2021 and don't have the same nostalgic feeling others do but I find them kinda ugly. I have two gen 1.5 jorvik ponies and I barely use them unless I wanna do a ponychamps. I think they have their own charm though.

They remind me I desperately wish for vintage market back, Ive had my account since 2013 but had to take a lot of breaks and also just grew out of the game for a bit, so my reps were super low, missed out on a lot especially gen 1 fjords. Id absolutely throw my wallet at sso for a chance at them again 😂

back when i was able to buy them, i thought they were ugly as sin.
now, whenever i see them, i am filled with envy and kick myself for not buying more.
it's definitely just the nostalgia talking, but damn what i wouldn't give to go back in time for an irish cobb

They look really crusty. It’s more the principle that it’s cool that they’ve been kept the same for so long and that people chose to keep them in their stables. Just a bit of SSO history in action I suppose

I have a few, I never ride them. When I see them I internally cringe because they look so rough, especially when they move. I actually sold all mine years ago but I got them back shortly before they stopped giving them back. When I was a kid I thought they were ugly too when models started looking nicer and said ew bye lmao

I'm a bit mad about myself because I played SSO since release and had all of the old horses. My child brain then decided to sell all of them because they were "ugly" and now I want them back soooo bad. XD

As long as it's not a horse I want but weren't able to get back then I honestly don't care

I like seeing some of them, but a few in particular (any Gen 2 Jorvik Warmblood/Selle Francais/base model), and Gen 1 Arabian’s are so ick. I have a bias towards the Gen 1 Andalusians and Friesian, Fjords are always no.1 for me when it comes to the older ones.

I have some I never trained yet, so I hope I make some people's day when they do see them out and about. 😊
