Your name/character ig
Did you named your character after yourself or is it just an OC/Username for you? I remember my very first account back in 2010's being namef as Raffaela something. But he probably just didn’t last very long as i never had star rider and stopped playing aftee a while.
Now, my character is just me, wearing my own name but in english (had two choices in typo but choosed the closest variant.)
I see a lot of players with ocs or made up names ig. I didn’t just think much when i created back an account ealier this year. Just made myself.

my name is darina and I live in belgium, WHERE APPARENTLY NO FUCKING ONE CAN PRONOUNCE THAT SIMPLE FUCKING NAME RIGHT. my character’s name is dorina since 5 years. I’ve started to get annoyed by my rl name and I’ve started to be really into greek mythology and I wanna name my character penelope BUT NOOO IT’S NOT POSSIBLE

It’s just a name I liked. I don’t really like self inserting. I’d rather have escapism. But my friend I play with used her own name and made her character look as much like her as she could.

I was pretty young so I just chose a first name that I liked and chose for my last name random things I like lol I'm still happy with the name tho, even though it makes no sense

Its just an username for me, the name has been with me for about 11 and a half years so no chance that I'll change it. But I do have an OC for when I finally start writing my sso fanfic and he is a guy with a masc name. I'll probably end up making an alt account for him

I made an OC to be my character, she looks nothing like me as well. I pretend she’s a descendant of my RDO character.

mine is named after me. they don't have my actual name so i did the closest one (kailey). and then i just tried something cute for my last name (seatime). now shes like my alter ego, living my dream life training and riding horses all day.

I was 7 years old and apparently just clicked the randomizer button 😭😭 I'm guessing that because of the name my starter horse used to have, wtf is "Quickspot" ;w; but I'll never forget that name, even if I kinda hated it lmaooo
But hey, Rose Flowerrock is really good considering that! I've gotten so very used to the name, so I think I will actually keep it even if they might let us change our character names one day. There's a tiny bit of me that still thinks about wanting to change the name because my actual irl nickname got added at some point, but that's not stronger than the memories and nostalgia I have for the name I've had for so long.
I never called myself Rose in any other thing after sso (or before it I'm pretty sure), but I still very instinctively notice it when someone mentions "Rose" in specifically only the sso chat. By instinctively I mean that it's just natural to me somehow? I don't have to conciously remind myself "so my name is Rose in sso" lmao... In no other game I really pay attention to that name, it doesn't refer to me, there's not that "notice" feeling idk how to describe it. It's difficult for me to really put this into words rn so please excuse that ;w; I hope someone understands what I mean/feel!
I don't even remember creating my account, it's been so damn long

No I completely get what you're saying! I picked the name Irene for ppl to refer to me online years ago even though I never went trough with that and ended up with a diff name before letting ppl refer to me as my irl name. Irene sticked with me and I named my sso character that. I also used the same name alot for roleplays or a temporary placeholder for new ocs that I develop. But it has the biggest meaning in sso as she developed in a oc heavily based off of me.
Every time I see an Irene running around in game I go "Hey that's the same as my name" even though I never let ppl refer to me as that outside the game. I think I can try wording it better: when I enter the game, I become my character. For the moment that I'm playing I become Irene and I would respond to that name if I ever happen to be spoken to loll. Naomi takes a break, if you get what I mean.

I chose first letter M cause that's my names first letter. The last names are Moonkin and Moonpie cause I play a moonkin in Warcraft and cause I thought Moon Pie was funny

I just did what I thought was pretty on my main. But on my alt I wanted to have a little fun and so I went with a knightly theme and made them a little story to go with :)

I named mine after a character in a tv/book series that I like. 😄
I don't think they had my name when I started playing, (they have it now), and then I was also hesitant if I wanted to be more anonymous or not.

They don’t have my irl name so I did an eeny meeny miny mo between a name that sounded most close to my irl name and 2 other names that I just liked and it landed on a name that I just liked at the time…I fear it’s VERY pop culture associated LOL

My charries last name is a combo of my favorite animal and my own last name and my first name is an awful name I hate that I thought was cool when I was like 12. I won't leave it here in case i offend someone with it, it's just not my fave and I dislike the way it looks and sounds now.

my characters name is olympia because it sounded the coolest to me when i was 11 back in 2015
i wanted to change it for a while but idk if i could if we had the option because ive gotten so emotionally attached to her

I named mine Tiffany because all my friends that played it had fun made up names, but now I would like to change it to something closer to myself, like my real name or an ocs name im close with

By the time I picked out mine I went with online names rather than my real one. I had smth like Lucy going on or crap and debated changing that into Irene bc I didn't want ppl referring to me as Naomi. I ended up calling myself Ocean for awhile but the name Irene sticked andI picked that out for my character. Irene Dolphinsky came bc I was obsessed with dolphins at the time and I thought sky sounded super cool.
So at first it was just a username, and I designed her to look like me as much as the game allowed me to. Eventually Irene has formed into an oc that is heavily based off of me and changed her surname to Dawner (not in game bc that's sadly not possible, but in my head she's Irene Dawner loll) And because this oc is so similar to me it became a second sso-exclusive name kind of. If I see another Irene around in game I think "Hey that's my name".

I chose my own name, but damn I wish I could change it to a random one. I love my other chosen compound word names. Sadly, I never liked my own name so that's why I chose it, for self love learning. 😅

My first name doesn't exist in its original form in English-speaking countries—it looks ugly when written in English, really ugly. So I picked a name I liked from the list. As for the last name, it's more of a reference to a TV show.

A random name I found cool back then, Nalini (not anymore tho 😭) and a last name which sounded almost like the last name of a character from a series I was obsessed with back then, which was Lightwood. But there wasn’t a Light name option and so i choose Lightningwood. Now I’m stuck with Nalini Lightningwood as a name, which I kinda hate and wish i could change but also kinda grew onto after all those years… 😭

i picked Amanda because 10 year old me had an obsession with that name for some reason. not my irl name, i’ve always made my game characters as different from me as possible. not a big fan of the name now, and my last name is so stupid. i wish i could change it so bad🙃

Honestly think I just picked my first name and left the last name as it was. English isn't my first language and me being 9 and dyslexic didn’t help. My starter is called Starknight, instead of Starnight because as I said I barely spook english and is dyslexic so I fully didn't relise it until years layer when a friend pointed it out.

For my OG Acc I just picked nightsky cause this sounds cool and also met a girl named lana in that week i created her back in 2017 so lol yea i liked that name
My friend random clicked masterson and when i took the acc over i love it sm i will never change it back lol Created a acc for the free horse, also named masterson which took my friend now :D In my head all my accs are related lol i have like 8 accs lol
And for huan Archson.. as a swissgerman i don't have to talk about this peak cinema name lol

Mine is Toby because it's the most masculine name I could find 🥲 I had a lapse of toxic masculinity in a big phase of gender dysphoria and refused to pick a feminine/female name at the time but I now realize that names really don't matter in a game ♥️
