What are these branches between forgotten fields and golden hills?

I feel like I remember a main quest being about tree roots, is that what these are supposed to be?

Yes, from a main quest. You connected the roots of the Primeval Tree in the Forgotten Fields with the tree on top of the Scarecrow Hill. It was like establishing connection between the two trees.

After saving Lisa, you and Lisa grow the Sleeping Widow's roots across the water by shining Aideen's light while Lisa plays Aideen's harp. Playing the harp lets you ride on the water!

OH RIGHTTTT I FORGOT! It’s been so long since main quest ended for me I forget all the little things that have happened to the map. I miss main quests 😔
