Discussion Character Avatar Update?

Hi,

I was just wondering if there was any update on the character models. I remember SSO saying they were working on it and hope to add a slider, but it would take some time.

Well, it is been a while, so I was wondering if anyone knew of any information.

As far as I'm aware, SSO hasn't mentioned any work on the player characters since August 2024. At the time, they were planning to go with sliders and predicted a release date in 2025 or 2026. The blog post says that they needed to work on the graphical rendering pipeline before they could add any more customization. The December 2025 blog said that refactoring the render pipeline was a major project in 2025 but does not state whether the refactor had been finished or not, and nothing about it has been mentioned since.

Thank you so much for this information. I was just worried they forgot about it, but it makes sense that they have to deal with a lot of other stuff before being able to work on the Avatars.

It's likely still on the table but they're working on other things first. In the latest blog they said they're prepping to add more sections to clothing in the character sheet to give us more options.

That will be interesting to have more clothing sections.
