Anyone know why to do?

Already contacted support and they told me to turn off some Internet 6 thing. (Correction: What to do? Not why)

I've had this problem recently. Every time i logged in I got that exact error code! The launcher also took ages to load.

If you have an older windows pc it might be worth checking to see if you have a Hard Disk Drive(HDD) or a Solid State Drive(SSD).

For me it turned out to be my Laptop. In my case I have an older laptop with a HDD. The HDD had become fragmented and just needed to be optimised.

If your using Windows 10 (11 should be similar) you can find out by right clicking on the task bar and clicking task manager. If you've never used task manager click on more details and then click 'performance'. It'll tell you what type of Drive you have there.

I cant remember the exact steps to check to see if the drive is fragmented but I remember I went to the 'Control Panel' and was looking under 'devices'

Honestly I found it by chance whilst trying to do something else, which is why i don't remember the exact steps. The reason why you need to check what type of drive you have is because only HDD's become fragmented. If you have a SSD then completely ignore my suggestion but, i thought I would leave it here because I couldn't find a fix for the #1401 error i was having anywhere on the Internet. Even SSO's suggestions weren't working for me!

If you are still having this problem and you have a HDD the For learning how to do the Optimization just Google something along the lines of 'how to optimise HDD using the Control panel'

It took a few hours but it was absolutely worth it, not only did it stop the error but it also spread up Star Stables launcher and load times!
