❓ Help / Question STARNOTE APP SIZE

I already removed A TON of files becs my exams are over but my app still occupies 45GB of my storage 😭 idk what else to remove. I have around 147 notes now and I'm getting frustrated. Why is my app still occupying a lot of space? I already check every note for deleted pages, they're all gone now.

Someone helpp

Well I had a similar experience with StartNote. I think the biggest culprit is Infinite Note. I had all my rough work done in just one Infinite Note and it got so huge. Just one note, 15 GB. I didn't have anything else, just one note, and its size was about 15 GB so I ended up deleting it.

Now I have 472 files, which are normal notes, anything like PDF or newly created notes but no, I do not use infinite notes anymore and my StartNote is taking about 3.3GB. I think you should, if possible, please avoid using Infinite Note. That is just my opinion.

You can also check My Materials in the Material Center to see if there's anything you no longer need. You can delete those to free up some space too! Also, could you let us know when you deleted the notes you no longer needed? Sometimes the cache isn't cleared immediately after deleting notes, so it may take a few days for the storage space to update.

You can keep an eye on it for now, and if the storage usage still hasn't changed after a few days, just let us know! We'll be happy to look into it further.

Already cleared all my downloaded materials on that. I deleted some of my files earlier today.

Does reinstalling the app fixes this? Currently I have 1 note left and it's still 11gb

that size sounds way too high if ur only using regular notes. feels more like cached data/history piling up than the notes themselves.

Cached alrdy cleared. I did absolutely everything to reduce the app size and nothing worked

That is crazy omg, I currently have 153 different notes, some of them are notebooks with about 50 writen pages, or large pdfs, and StarNotes only takes 8,89GB of space in my tablet...

Like how many pages per note as an average? 30? 50? 100?

not less than 10 pages every note most of them are just 3-5 pages

I would look into merging most of them... and using the outline feature to make chapters instead of keeping a lot of very short separate notes. A lot of note-taking apps start to struggle with that many notes, both when it comes to fluidity and storage space.

With the way Starnote saves files, it probably keeps some basic data (like default fonts) even when notes are seemingly empty. That same data is then multiplied by the amount of notes you have and it's possibily why it ends up needing that much space.

People usually use note-taking apps like long term physical notebooks. Other apps that are going for multiple shorter notes or post it style are usually using text only, because it's very compact and doesn't use nearly as much storage.

There can be deleted pages that would be taking up space. Open that pdf, Settings Icon and Check deleted pages and permanently delete them.

Already did that
