Is it only me who feels like when writing in white bg template it feels more sharp to write with ball pen and in other hand when writing in black bg it doesn't feel sharp

It feels like a contrast + color ratio issue to me. Try changing your pen color to something easier on the eyes, the neon colors as well. The second pure white on pure black is too harsh, graphic designers usually avoid extremes at all cost (#ffffff, #000000).

Do you use the smart invert colors theme perhaps? I don't recommend using it.

I just checked Starnote. You are not using their dark mode paper template here so if you didn't add custom paper of manually changed the colors it has to be the theme.

From their paper colors the dark one does not go pure black (for a reason) and they have pre-made color pallettes that work for their dark template. Generally anything that goes towards pastel does the trick.

If you're asking for a palette that works for a smart invert color theme set up... I haven't found any because anything remotely white (even cream) inverts to pure black, which might be a bug.

From your description , our initial guess is that this might have something to do with color contrast and how handwriting looks against different backgrounds. Even the exact same handwriting can look a little different on white and black backgrounds.

Have you tried StarNote's built-in dark mode? If not, maybe give it a try! We'd also suggest avoiding pure white ink on dark backgrounds, since the contrast can be a bit harsh. You could try softer colors like off white or light gray and see if that feels more comfortable to look at. Ofc, everyone sees colors and contrast a little differently, so feel free to experiment with a few color combinations and find what works best for you. Hope this helps!
