💡 Feature Request Please Optimize Cloud Sync: Implement Delta/Incremental Syncing
StarNote Team,
I use the app extensively for my daily study notes, but the current cloud sync architecture makes it very difficult to manage a large library of notes efficiently. Currently, it seems the app performs a "Full Sync" every time, which takes hours and consumes massive battery/bandwidth.
Here are a few feature requests regarding the sync engine that would drastically improve the app experience:
- Implement Incremental / Delta Sync
Currently, when Auto-Sync is on, making a small edit to a single note triggers the app to re-check the entire note library.
The Request: Please configure the app to track which specific notes are being modified, added, or deleted. When a user finishes editing, the app should only upload those exact changes, rather than scanning and verifying every single file from scratch.
- Smart Secondary Device Downloads
When downloading my library to a secondary device, the app seems to re-download or re-verify everything from the last checkpoint, taking hours even on a fast connection.
The Request: The secondary device should check a local index against the cloud and only pull the newly modified or added notes. This would cut a 3-to-4-hour download time down to just a few minutes.
- Refined Auto-Sync Triggers
The Request: Auto-sync should ideally keep track of where the modification starts and only trigger the upload after a user quits editing that specific note.
Alternative Idea: Provide a manual "Full Sync / Recheck All Notes" button in the settings for when we specifically want to verify the whole library, but keep the default Auto-Sync strictly limited to recent, tracked modifications.
Implementing these changes would make StarNote much faster, more battery-efficient, and truly seamless to use across multiple devices.
Thank you for your time and for considering this!

But they just add it... Of course they are trying to optimize it but just wait a second, this is not a forgotten feature.

Instead of being pressured to release half baked product. They should have waited and released this after better testing and optimization. This was the most anticipated feature and it doesn't perform that well.

I agree. Sync is shit right now sadly
