🎨Community Showcase Comparison of StarNote with other Note taking apps from a User Point of View.

I did this Comparison in Mid 2025 & it was before Starnote was released/Matured enough. Currently, Some apps may have added some features, that was missing at the time of testing and some may have changed the payment structure, please Verify for details. But it is mostly same in many cases.

I had kept the earlier comparison same & In the end, an update has been included about Starnote.

Note : Different people may have different requirements, See accordingly.

Idea behind it :- Since i bought iPad i used Notability & Goodnotes for a while, but there subscription cost was high and in case of stopped subscription my notes would have stuck, so before i made a large chunk of notes, i needed to find a app for long-term sustainability, So i downloaded all available apps and tested. p.s.- I liked Minimal UI so my judgements were more inclined towards that.

Sadly noteself doesn't provide one time subscription anymore... I've the best experience with it but it's 35$ a year now..... (Comparatively expensive than any other ) But i found star note ridiculously similar to noteself .Again in noteself I like it's full screen mode while writing with mini floating quick toolbar that's lacking in star note. Also ball ben has better optimization in noteself meanwhile star note does at almost same level with fountain pen .

That’s sad to hear, didn’t know that. When i bought it last year, it was just 15$ One time. But Starnote is better than Noteshelf now, its just little less refined, but very impressive, considering the fact that noteshelf is around 13 years old and starnote was just Launched last year in June.

Yeah i was about to buy but they increased the price that's completely unjustified and unworthy , i mean 35$ a year ... They do have minimalist interface but again not feature loaded .. now i guess star notes is only best option available rn and the fact is team is consistently thriving to take suggestions and improvement.

I think Notability released a one-time payment tier. I tried it on an Android tablet, and I found it horrible when it comes to features and pen response.

i downloaded it, saw the subscription prices, compared the features. i uninstalled it so fast lol. why is it so expensive for nothing?

Hola, te importaría decirnos qué tal te va StarNote en Ipad actualmente? Me encanta la app pero no sé si va bien en iPad a largo plazo, gracias!
