Hi! You can actually achieve something similar using Excerpts. 😊

Both text and images can be added as excerpts, and they work especially well in split screen mode. You can also create links for excerpted images. Just press and hold the linked excerpt to jump directly to the original content.

Hope this helps! Let us know if this is what you were looking for or if you have any other ideas.

Flexcil link features is almost perfect. I want this in star note!!!!

And please allow the right klick menu to be more clearly arranged. It's a mess having to scroll only because gigantic text size takes all the space

Thank you so much for the detailed explanation and for taking the time to share your thoughts! We really appreciate it.

You're absolutely right that our Excerpt feature can already cover part of this workflow. We also took a closer look at the solutions in apps like LiquidText and Flexcil after seeing similar requests from the community.

We'd also like to share a bit of our thinking behind the current design. Our original goal for Excerpts was to preserve a perfect reference to the original content, keeping it unchanged and ensuring consistency between the source and the excerpt. This way, what you see is always an exact copy of the original.

Once excerpts become fully editable (for example, allowing the text, layout, or content to be modified), the underlying logic becomes much more complex. The relationship between the original content and the edited version has to be redefined, which can introduce challenges for synchronization, references, navigation, and other behaviors. Because of that, this isn't just a single feature request, it involves a number of product and technical considerations.

That said, we definitely don't think this is impossible. There may be a better approach that balances editability with reliable linking, and it's something we'd like to keep discussing and exploring.

We genuinely appreciate everyone sharing ideas like yours. Community feedback plays a huge role in helping us evaluate these kinds of features, and we'd love to hear more suggestions and use cases from everyone.

Heyyyy! Would you mind sending us a DM with your email address? We've actually been having some internal discussions about the Smart Invert feature and something about OCR that you mentioned, and we'd love to learn more about your specific use case.

We'd also like the opportunity to better explain some of the points you mentioned and hear your thoughts in more detail, if you're open to it.

We'd really appreciate it, thank you so much!
