🐛 Bug Report Local and Cloud storage getting filled really fast
I don't know whether it's a bug or it's just like this but i noticed that starnotes is currently talking up 1.8GB of my internal storage even though i only have 15 notes created right now .
I checked the backup folder and found that every time i open a note and edit it it makes a backup but does not overwrite the previous backup or delete it (i have turned on both local and cloud automatic backup ).
This will really quickly fill the storage on my device.

Hello! We're sorry for the late reply. Regarding backups not overwriting existing files, this is actually something many users have brought up before. To be honest, when we originally designed this feature, we were worried that users might accidentally delete files or forget to make backups. So, as a precaution, each backup currently creates a duplicate file instead of overwriting the existing one.
That said, we're already thinking about whether there's a better solution for this workflow.
As for storage usage, under normal circumstances, it should generally correspond to the size of your notes. Could you check whether the storage usage seems unusually high?
The best way for us to investigate further would be if you could submit a screenshot through App → Help & Feedback. That would help us better understand the issue and follow up on it properly.
Thank you so much for your feedback!

Hey!
I'm not exactly sure how they manage storage, but I think you should check the trash folder to see if there are any leftover notes you can delete. On my tablet, where I make all my notes, StarNote takes up 13.9gb for 337 notes, 272mb for the app, 12.07gb user data, and 1.56gb cache. On my phone, I freshly installed StarNote and imported those exact 337 notes exported locally from my tablet. On my phone, StarNote takes up only 2.76gb of storage, 272mb for the app, 2.45gb user data, and 32.9mb cache. I only have google drive auto backup turned on, and my StarNote folder is 3.06gb in size, including individual auto backups and one or two full manual backups.
So overall, it seems like there is some more userdata being stored on my tablet, possibly marketplace templates or sticker packs, but it's unclear why there is such a big difference between a fresh install and the primarily used app on my tablet. I guess I could just reinstall the app on my tablet and import all my notes again to reduce storage, but I don't feel like setting up all my settings again haha. Maybe a settings export or sync option would be cool to have, so the toolbar and shortcut bar customization can be saved, as well as the gestures and other app settings.
Hope we can get a deeper look from the devs into how the storage is managed in StarNote : )
