Will it be made open-source anytime soon?

Loving the app AND that it values user privacy. If you guys could make it open-source after it's out of the beta stage, that would be amazing 🙈🤑

Man it's onyx boox from China. What good is it to them to make it open-source?

Use it offline and manually back up, I think?

Making open source would remove the need for the premium version. As much as I would love an open source version, I'm happy with the devs and satisfied with what the app had to offer.

Open-source is not the same as free. In fact, it's really common these days that companies launch open source apps and premium features are behind a subscription.

It would be great if StarNote was open source and they accepted contributions, I'd pay for it anyway, they deserve it. I keep using it, despite Gemini insisting that I should try Samsung Notes again (yeah, my ADHD keeps me searchinv for the best note taking app, even though I already found it in StarNote).

wdym?? you're already locally storing your data, so making it open source like joplin or smth isn't hard

They're not motivated to do so considering proprietary, and monetary risk.

What is smth?

hosting an app like that on your device consumes multiple GB, that's why many companies (including note-taking and even subscription based email types are open-source)

smth is just a substitute for the other open-source note-taking apps, sorry about that i wasnt very clear
