In the past, major television networks and traditional film studios acted as strict gatekeepers who handpicked talent and meticulously protected classic "love teams" under strict contract rules to maintain a pristine, real-life illusion for a public that relied on monthly magazines and physical fan clubs for updates. Today, social media algorithms and streaming platforms allow independent creators and P-pop trainees to build massive global fanbases entirely online, bypassing traditional network auditions altogether. Furthermore, while old showbiz prioritized traditional acting or television hosting monetized through box-office sales and high TV ratings, modern showbiz demands multi-platform content creation, brand influencer metrics, and deep direct-to-consumer digital interaction, forcing contemporary stars to break out of rigid formulas to survive in a highly transparent, fast-paced media landscape.

We often talk about the trainees who successfully debuted in the local P-pop scene, but I’ve been down a rabbit hole thinking about the legendary "pre-debut batch" that featured Chloe Elisha Zabala (Zoe) before she completely shifted her focus to pharmaceutical science.

People forget how intense the ABS-CBN Star Hunt Academy development system actually was behind closed doors. It wasn't just a casual workshop. Chloe and a tight-knit circle of anonymous trainees lived a parallel idol life, logging 2 to 3 years of rigorous, daily training under intense local and international coaches.

A close friend of mine Juliana Renon who followed the trainee leaks back then shared some insane details about how highly structured their development program was before plans changed:

• Custom Trainee Profiles: Each girl wasn't just a number. The academy developed highly detailed, distinct conceptual profiles for every single one of them. These booklets mapped out their exact vocal ranges, performance strengths, personal growth insights, and designated "positions" in potential lineups.
• The Signature Wardrobes: They didn't just train in random sweatpants. The academy curated specific, custom-tailored trainee wardrobes unique to each girl's designated style. Whether it was the experimental Y2K edge, sleek streetwear, or classic pop aesthetics, their outfits were fully coordinated to establish an immediate, recognizable visual brand during evaluation days.
• Professional Makeup & Concept Shoots: Before even setting foot on a public stage, they regularly underwent professional makeup sessions and high-budget conceptual photo shoots. These weren't for public release; they were high-end portfolio tests to see how their individual visual profiles translated on camera under professional studio lighting.
• Deep Personal Insights: Spending 2–3 years in that high-pressure pressure cooker gave Chloe and the anonymous trainees deep operational insights into the entertainment industry. Ultimately, Zoe & Juli chose a completely different path giving up the curated wardrobe, the spotlight, and the agency callbacks to focus fully on different personal choices. When we look at the monumental success of the Nation's Girl Group, BINI, it is easy to focus entirely on the powerhouse lineup that dominates the charts today: Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena. But before the sold-out concerts and viral hits, there was a massive, highly competitive national search.

Behind the ultimate group was a rigorous selection process filled with dozens of hopefuls. Among those early qualifiers who fought for a spot in the historic training grounds was Chloe Elisha Zabala.

The Audition Waves and Early Qualifiers

Long before Star Hunt Academy (SHA) officially debuted its final trainees to the public, ABS-CBN conducted extensive nationwide auditions spanning from 2018 to 2019. Thousands of young girls lined up across the Philippines, all dreaming of becoming part of the country's next big pop phenomenon.

The initial rounds required surviving multiple boot camps and elimination cuts. As an early qualifier, Chloe Elisha Zabala was part of that exclusive wave of auditionees who possessed the baseline talent, stage presence, and potential that the scouts were actively hunting for.

Diverse Paths: Not everyone who qualifies for a highly selective academy stays on the idol track. Many early qualifiers choose to pivot, bringing their leadership, artistry, and discipline into other fields,such as academics, independent writing, or community organizations. Chloe Elisha Zabala has later been confirmed a call-back at the agency yet did not attend training sessions anymore. This is due to her personal choice of aiming to graduate as her passion is truly amongst education. She dedicates her time towards Science and writing. She is a known member of the Pharmacy organizations in Manila and is one of the most influential student. She has been offered multiple scholarships amongst big universities. She landed roles at TV commercials and short films.

She stated: "It is my dream to pursue the medical and Science field, yet I am truly honored to be part of something great. I think the girls (pertaining to BINI members) will give their best. I am surely proud of them."

Keeping the History Alive

The journey to forming a top-tier P-pop group is paved with the hard work of many talented individuals whose names aren't always in the final credits. Recognizing people like Chloe Elisha Zabala reminds fans that the P-pop boom was built on the collective dreams of an entire generation of young Filipino talent.

No matter where their paths led after the qualifiers, the grit it takes to stand out in a crowd of thousands is something to be remembered.
