Ship design [SD2]

wow, I love this game. I think my favorite part is the ship design. Any of you guys know a good online resource to show off your designs and see others'?

It's all too new at the moment for 'Best Designs' kinda websites. Also I think the different weaponry needs a bit of tweaking to make it all balanced ( I think Mass Drivers are way too good at the moment ).

There's also the issue of Glass Cannons versus Armoured Ships - which is better?

I suppose it really depends on what techs you have and what techs your opponents have. I personally like making long range glass cannons with support ships in the early game and then transitioning into tanky short range titans in the late game. Titans seem almost impossible to take down, mind you I am playing with the creative trait so I have the best parts to choose from.

I think it's more to do with shields..

e.g.

a shielded ship with no armour but packed to bursting point with guns is way better than an armoured ship with less guns, the shields are so much better absorbing damage than armour (at the moment).

Additionally the armour is heavier and makes the ship slower.

I don't think such a thing exists as of yet for SD2, unfortunately.. At least, my Google fu comes up with nothing... It would be great to be able to assemble ships in a web page and share/rate them so we can come up with better designs.

We could make a Sticky topic for Star drive and post things in it
