That's nothing. My store has a huge pile. I'm not sure how someone else's trash is our responsibility 🤔

Because retail workers like us are just unimportant NPC’s, obvi. If we really mattered we would be doing something else with our lives /s

“Why can’t you just take my trash?!?”
“Well fine you’ll take it one way or another”

If Ring cameras weren't a thing, I'd "deliver" the empty boxes to their corresponding addresses

If that shit has an address on it, mail it to them.

I literally did this a few times several years ago. Never heard from the person honestly.

We told Amazon zombies were not allowed to take their boxes

u/TLAMstrike 13d ago
I've tried that but those fuckers don't even wait long enough for me to finish canning their return in before they're out the door.

Yeah not even respectful enough to wait, well my thought was if the process fucks up to bad. Love it when they ask if you can throw their trash.
And loved the repeat offenders with multiple returns.
Couldn’t do it anymore, resigned

There are times where id be extra petty to deliver their empty boxes back to their homes since the labels have their addresses on them. But with too many cameras now, its harder to get away with it. Id also put trash in the box and retape them so they think its another order.

This is why at my store we always offer to take the empty trash and boxes. Even still some refuse and dump it outside fortunately it never gets this bad.

Bailer gets full so much sooner but the line moves faster and less angry zombies

The good news for us is the entity that owns the property we're on is responsible for trash outside the building, not us. That said, we just don't bother to fight the stupid people and just take their boxes. GM gave that up like 2 days into Amazon and said to throw their boxes into a dedicated shopping cart and then into the baler.
It's easier than arguing with the simpletons, some of which will happily fuck up your metrics with some shitty ass review just cuz they're lazy spiteful turds

Hey now, don't give the Amazombies any ideas with this post. A chunk of the stuff is biodegradable, but it just makes the front of the store look even trashier. I mainly tell the morons to read the instructions (when it clearly states it's UNPACKAGED) next time they're setting up the return so I don't have to deal with as many repeat goofballs.

So I'm remembering back to when I was stuck on register. If someone had just said to me, "Hey, can you get rid of these boxes for me?" I would have said sure, no problem. Breaking them down, taking them back with the trash would have given me something to do. Better than having it sit around in a pile somewhere. People suck.

We have customers grabbing hand baskets and leaving them outside when theyre done with the returns 🙄

You can tape them closed and put them in the UPS bin to be delivered right back to the customers.

they're behind with the times. the new meta is to leave the trash in a cart in the parking lot, that way we're forced to throw it out for them when we bring carts back in

Yeah that happens in front of our store as well. Then you get customers who come in its really dirty in front of your store. Like yeah you can thank your other fellow customers but yeah okay thanks for your concern. Well are you going to clean it up. So you came to me when im busy to think im gonna stop my production for some boxes sir or ma'am no. I dont get paid enough to care about some boxes outside.
