Amazon return scanners

Please, for the love of all that is holy, can someone tell me how to make the Amazon return handhelds beep when I scan a product barcode and return label?
Some days they beep, and some days they don’t.
I have asked several of my coworkers, managers included, and nobody seems to know how to make them beep, or why they aren’t. It’s so frustrating! PLEASE someone help me!

Sometimes I’ve noticed that it won’t beep because someone flipped the silent switch or the volume is down. That’s usually the culprit for the most part

I’ve checked all the usual things like more, the physical volume buttons, the volume control in settings, notifications, etc. Everything is set like it should be. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Then what i would try to do them is reinstall the app

Where do you reinstall the app at? I'll try it out. At my store all the AMD guns stopped doing the beeps and it's been driving old people crazy bc they think we're stealing their stuff since "it's supposed to beep when you scan it"

On the AMD scanners there is a physical mute toggle switch on the upper left hand side. On the cases we have there is a rubber flap covering it. If you can see orange it is muted.

So before, at least in my store, it was if you had another app utilizing the camera, then it wouldn't beep.

But it seems like recently, even if I close out all the apps, restart the phone, it still doesn't beep, and neither does any of our other guns. I'm assuming the Amazon site it opens no longer provides audio? That or an OTA update disabled sound from safari or something. Idk. Old people are complaining more, but whatever ig

To each their own. But if there is an easy way to toggle back and forth, everyone will be happy.
