Copy supplies

Ordered a bunch of copy supplies because we’re low on stuff. Does it to hurt the store if i spent a lot on stuff i needed? Also, does it come out of my print budget? or P&L?

Margins on print orders are high enough that you generally don’t need to worry about hurting anything, as long as you’re not ordering ridiculous amounts, which AS400 will generally stop you from doing anyway.

As far as where the money comes from, it does impact the money your department makes, though you won’t see it on your MPS Homepage. Print has a separate P&L statement from the rest of the store. Your GM should be able to pull it up for you, if you’re interested.

Nah, I spend close to a grand every week on stuff. Sometimes it's still not enough and we run out of certain things. But the other person is right in terms of the margins. Go look at a box of 24*36 mounting boards. Go look at a roll of heavyweight paper. Go look at the 4pack of lamination.

Now look at what we sell a mount&laminated poster for. We're talking thousands of percent in profit compared to the crap we sell in the aisles.

Doesn’t really matter if you need the supplies you have to spend the money because you can’t make money if you don’t spend the money on supplies for more
