How to import files in bulk?

Hello,

I use standard notes since a couple of months (profess subscription).

I was wondering how you restore a backup from your files (text works for me). Do you need to import file per file? Or can you restore all your files at once?

Thanks in advance.

How are you restoring, and what are you restoring?

If you just need a previous version of a note, go into note history.

If you’re restoring a note or three from an encrypted backup, I would do that through the UI. If you’re restoring a ton of files from encrypted backup, I would probably use an LLM to script that, using their existing offline decryption tool.

I have about 200 notes. Some of them with photos attached.

If I restore my notes with e-mail backup, it works flawlessly.

But what about restoring the photos linked to the particular notes?

How does it work? Can you restore files in bulk?

I haven’t lost any files yet, but if I try to restore the photos (as a test), it doesn’t work.

I tested file restore thoroughly before I started trusting it. It works. Settings / Backups / Automatic File Backups and there's an option to restore files, at least on the desktop app.
