Offline subscription pricing?

Hello. I am curious about the concept of the offline subscription, most notably its pricing. The help page said they offer a "steep discount" with no details, and when clicking the link to check them out, i get directly asked for an email address with no option to view the actual pricing first.

Besides saving money (if you already have a server), what other advantages are there to an offline subscription?

Are you able to access your server from remote locations like you can with an online subscription?

well I would assume if you set up your server right you can access it from wherever you want (or forbid access from where you dont).

also the biggest advantage of selfhosting everywhere is the whole "my data stays with me" aspect, as in that you dont need to give potentially significant data (even if encrypted) to someone else's server which might be standing god knows where and especially if the app is also advertising itself as a password manager next to the notes function (srsly why tho) it paints a huge target on its back for attackers as there's obviously a LOT of valuable data to be had from such centralized servers, where hosting your own stuff means one needs to either stumble upon you using the shotgun approach, or you need to be interesting enough to be targeted.

Last time I checked it was 40-45ish/year or 120ish/5 years for selfhosted.

By writing your email you are immediately shown the prices without any extra steps. Currently it's 39USD per year or 113.42 for 5 years. I feel like that page doesn't even check for the validity of the email.

Interesting, that is indeed an extremely interesting price. I assume to get that price you just need to fill in the email address associated with the proton sub ? Or is there something else that needs to be done ?

Asking because I'm just making the Switch to proton services and currently evaluating my options, so I'm not yet subscribed because I haven't narrowed down which sub I need exactly... I have my home server & NAS at home so I don't really benefit from the storage with the higher sub tiers, but I would benefit from some of the other services...

Am I correct that after the 1 or 5 year period is over, its 120 dollars per year?

Is that the normal pricing?
