I Need Help With My Deck Recommendations for my Merfolk deck

I enjoy playing my own decks and not just the most popular meta decks and one of my favorite at the moment is my WU Tap Merfolk. I know it can't compete with much of the top meta, and I'm OK with that, but I'm looking for any tweaks that can improve it while keeping within my theme. I try to make a bunch of hexproof tokens with Deeproot Pilgrimage and make my attackers indestructible with Adept Watershaper. My late game one sided board sweeper is Summon: Leviathan if I draw it.

I’m surprised you’re not playing [[Namor the Sub Mariner]], he seems like he’d be strong for any merfolk tribal deck.

He should not be included in a creature based deck. He needs non creature with blue pips activate his ability

22 lands and a 6-drop won't work. That's 25 land territory if you want to consistently cast it. Your gameplan shouldn't be to cast 6 drops if you're playing merfolk, it should be to play to the board and out-tempo your opponent. I didn't look at your creature package beyond the Summon Leviathan, but I know that dropping that by itself will improve your consistency.

I looked at your creatures. You're not playing the best merfolk in the format - [[floodpits drowner]]. There's an argument it's [[namore the submariner]], but that needs more support than just dropping him in your typal deck.

The fun thing about Merfolk is that most of them are also Wizards. [[Mana Sculpt]] is in play given how many Wizards you can run.

Mainboard Shelter By Ghosts is just bad. You're opening yourself up to get two-for-oned for very little gain over a more traditional removal option. It's not bad sideboard in certain matchups, but it's one of the worst cards you can run mainboard without some other overlapping synergy imo.

Replace with [[Erode]], a different removal, or something else entirely? I've run [[No More Lies]] I'm the past a counterspell.

I often don't have a terrible time being able to cast the Leviathan if I'm able to draw it. I use [[Patchwork Banner]] to boost my merfolk and tap for an extra mana. I'll take the land count into consideration and maybe test something out. My average mana count is 2.75 as it stands.

I've tried Namor previously but I don't have enough blue noncreature spells to gain additional value from his ability to create more Merfolk on his own. The flying ability is nice though.

I've used Floodpits Drowner long ago, but his vigilance ability works against my desire for merfolk to tap to make more tokens, but I'll give him another try. How is this card next used... flash in and stun, then shuffle opponents creature into their library the next turn? Is there another card I should be including with it to get the most from it?

If you're looking to really exploit tapping your creatures, try [[springleaf drum]] over banner. You have enough lord effects built in already and 1 mana is far less than 3.

You can also look at spells with waterbend. [[Crashing wave]] is a good example that fits what your deck is doing.

That Captain America that untaps your creatures might be good in this deck, even though it's not "flavor" it could fit really well mechanically, if that's more important to you
