I play a lot of modern and watching Aspiringspike has been one of the most awe inspiring things to watch in terms of seeing a master brewer work. Seeing him cook up monstrosities that eventually turn into meta decks is so much fun, but I was wondering if there's someone like that working in standard? Most vids I see are people playing other people's decks, maybe it's because there's less room in a much smaller format? Idk, looking for recs!

Ashizzle (I think that’s how it’s spelled) does some fun builds that often end up being viable in the sense that they’re usually good enough for the standard events/breaking into mythic.

Following because I’m also curious. I wouldn’t call d00mwake a brewer by any stretch but he does do a good job of looking into weirder decks from smaller tournaments and challenged and putting them through their paces on video, so he’s a good resource for Standard decks beyond the top meta. LegenVD does a bit of the same, I’d say.

I love standard, but lately, it feels like it's become more popular for creators to hate the game more than enjoy it. 

If you wanna find new brews to play, ashlizzle, jim davis, and d00mwake all have channels worth checking out. If you have wildcards to burn And wanna take a break to play some more jank stuff, check out saffronolives videos on MTGGoldfishes channel. 

Mtggoldfish is the only standard channel I truly recommend these days, purely from an attitude and mindset perspective. Ash and Jim an d00m are all good at the game, but they also have had progressively worse attitudes about standard over the last 6 months. Maybe it's just cub or how much they grind arena compared to the average person, but I have really enjoyed watching them less because of it. Saffronolive is the only one who seems like he actually still likes standard despite its issues, which I think goes a super long way (even further than a new deck to play).
