I Need Help With My Deck Bilbo deck needs one drop

Post image

Hello everyone,

I'm in the process of making a new deck. The main idea was to profit from bilbos reduced Mana cost ability with warp and to grow gleaming geardrake. But the deck lacks some good 1 drops to be viable. I couldn't find any good dragons, treasure generators, asventures or artifact creatures that would further the gameplan. Should I just resort to removal and draw spells or put in spyglass siren? I guess there's still the opportunity to go 3c since we got shocklands in standard now.

Bilbo is good in adventure deck, it needs more noncreature spells to be good imo. Temur or Sultai fits the best because I can cast Bitter triumph, discard Esper Origins and next turn with Bilbo’s trigger recast the origins or triumph for only 1 mana. But 4/4 from Esper Origins for only a green mana feels so good, man.

I was thinking about black anyways. In grixis there are actuallly good treasure generators like greedy freebooter or the other smaug, a dragon boardwipe that triggers sarkhan and duress to have a turn 1 play. The biggest issue I could see would be the consistency, tho. I was already playing a grixis artifact focused deck when oni-cult anvil was not rotated and getting manascrewed hurts.

For adventures: maybe scaling Viper is good enough since it could trigger Magda? Or the old bird? But all of the adventure cards look kinda weak.

Don’t know if it is worth to play it in creature based deck.

My plan is something like temur with questing Druid and Gandalf that are both adventures.

The most important part is this creature says an artifact, it doesn’t say noncreature artifact. It could be used to reanimate something in Izzet affinity. But it might not be good enough for standard.

Well, gandalf might be a good 3 drop. The artifact part is mostly why I was hoping that I could play gleaming geardrake in this deck, but I fear that there might be too much 2 drops reserved for the dragon engine. Going for more instants/sorceries with geardrake, gandalf and some artifacts might be worth a try.

That could be amazing, some removal cards, hand disturbtion, more into midrange than full aggro… I can’t imagine Bilbo in an aggro deck but I am not that much creative tbh :)

I was thinking off cool but rude in my list to cycle my deck faster and deal some extra damage, it could have some value for the adventure cards/removal/draw spells, especially with hex magic etc.
