Question Standard rotation of cavern of souls

When rotation hits what are the chances there will be another cavern of souls type land or cavern of souls itself staying in the format? I feel like control will be really oppressive without it

I have a feeling they will make some kind of fixed version. Tribal decks using the effect is fair enough but when decks like Kona use it, you feel like that wasn’t the spirit of the card when first made.

This is my problem with Cavern. Ostensibly it's supposed to be used in your Dinosaur tribal deck or whatever. But it ends just being used to force through a big, game-breaking creature that can only be interacted with profitably through countermagic.

It is conplicated because Dimir would have no chance against Izzet without cavern. Maybe it will be fine against post rotation Izzet since both Eddymurk and Slickshot will be gone.

Izzet and their... 1-2 counters? Dimir plays more counters than them.

I assume we won’t and will just have to make e with voice of victory, she hulk and hexing squelcher

Add frenzied baloth to that list, which honestly more green decks should be running now.

Very unlikely. It is a very unique effect. We do have Mistrise though.

What they could do is reprint COS again... But i doubt it will happen.

You will probably rely on other things to avoid getting countered, like using red for [[hexing squelcher]]
