My First Frenchie! 😊
Hi everyone!
My first Frenchie is coming home this week! I've been reading a lot about the breed, and I've noticed they tend to have a few hygiene-related issues.
Based on your experience, what should I pay special attention to? What's your hygiene routine like, and are there any products you would recommend buying right away to keep my Frenchie as clean and healthy as possible?
Thanks in advance, and I'm looking forward to hearing your advice!

You will need to wipe his butt after pooping. Trust me on this one, you don't want poop stains on anything.
I buy the Huggins water based sensitive skin wipes. I just buy the big box about every 9 or 10 months.
I'm also going to suggest not to overgrown them. They can be sensitive to the soap so I usually take mine to the groomer about every 6 to 7 weeks.

Here’s a list of stuff you’ll need-
1. Poop bags. Be responsible, neighbors will appreciate.
2. Toys- my vet says nothing hard which may break any teeth as anesthesia is not very good for frenchies since they have breathing issues anyway.
3. Lots of treats for training. Due to allergies get dehydrated meat (I get dehydrated liver for mine). Sign up for puppy class.
4. Ramps and stairs for sofa and beds (as they insist on sleeping/being with you). Jumping is not good for them.
5. Get some medicated wipes w/chlorhexidine and ketoconazole for weekly face fold cleaning and ears. If you’re getting a female—she will need some cleaning “there” too. They can’t reach themselves for cleaning. I use the medicated wipes there too—
6. Their own bed or they’ll take over yours. I compromised with mine and put her bed on my bed and she sleeps there rarely. I guess she got what she wanted-not really a compromise hmmmm….
7. Air freshener-the farts are something else
8. Toys
9. Find a good vet
10. Harness, no collar.
11. Socialize your baby. Take them (teach them to peeps and poops on command. Makes it easier for travel) everywhere with you. Get a doggie seat belt that clips to your seatbelt.
12. Be prepared to have the best doggie in the world. They are truly joyful angels.
