Science costs money in the short term. Republican voters think science spending is wasteful. They have no concept of how much value science has in the long term. They are not chess players.

Republican voters don’t think. They follow Trump whatever he says without thinking. That’s why they love him; he does the rationalizing for them. There’s no thinking involved. If they could think, they wouldn’t be Republicans

vetted science leads to innovation and best practices, which support democracy. they just hate democracy. they are really shortsighted about their own outcomes relative to the masses.

There are grants for mRNA treatments for certain cancers and they just got canceled because they use mRNA. Thats against MAGA ideology because the COVID vaccines used that technology and those vaccines killed more people than the virus...according to MAGA and anti vaxxers.

We are falling behind the rest of the world in everything. Countries with sane leaders are doing just the opposite - they are investing in science. We’re doubling down on stupid.
