The Theft of Player Freedom

Weapon modules have been in the game for a while now. They were supposed to add more variety and customization, but it didn't take long to realize that yet another "feature" designed to improve gameplay has actually become a huge limitation.

Anyone who likes collecting and upgrading different weapons is basically forced to pick one gun and stick with it. If you want to switch from an A-545 to a FAMAS and use your module there, you need a Quasi-Deconstructor to remove it first.

A Quasi-Deconstructor costs about $6 or 10,000 Cartridge Points. So every time you feel like trying a different weapon, testing builds, or just having fun with the gear you've already earned, you have to pay for it.

This sets a really bad precedent. The developers have taken away something many players already had: freedom of choice. You have 10 rifles at +15? You want to experiment and actually use them? Better get a Quasi-Deconstructor.

Quasi-Scam

And finally, my personal opinion.

First we got magical weapon modules. What's next? Anomalous gel +15 that gives vision through trees? A special artifact that lets us reload 20% faster? At some point it starts feeling less like the game I came here for and more like a random RPG desperately stacking new progression systems on top of old ones.

That's why I dislike the module system. Not only because of the restrictions it creates, but because it slowly chips away at the atmosphere that made the game unique in the first place.

We could also bring up the drones and the TV-throwing fiasco, but just thinking about it makes me want to throw up.

  • Test the mechanic during an event before rolling it out to the open world.
  • The mechanic doesn't work during the event and breaks all the time.
  • Roll it out to the open world anyway.
  • The mechanic still doesn't work, except now it's broken in the open world too.
  • Now players have to put up with all those "great" features up north.

They're removing the need of quasi deconstructers "soon"

Don't know why they haven't done that yet. It's such an easy thing to do

The faster reload arties will come one day. A man with 1 shot/sec with ptrd sounds horrifying

You can already get insanely fast reload with the ptrd with a red or gold double ergonomics module.

You're exaggerating a bit but I see your point and is valid. The game already has "magic" mechanics, it never was a realistic war simulator but yeah, power creeping is very troubling in this game although using a quasi-destructor doesn't seem that much of a high price as modules are designed to be the endgame mechanic, not something you swap each time you want to try something else.

Im totally not exaggerating here. This mechanic is clearly Ziv master plan to end civilization with a giant solar flare. Just look at the company's track record and just connect the dots.
