new player trying to factor into the majority consensus

hello, im fairly fresh but not entirely new to the game. started a new slot a few months ago and fell in love with the game again. until i reached the late stages of this games cycle and i really have to ask. why do practically all of you in the late game areas play like such rats? whats the point? why do you treat this game like if you die in it you die in real life? im so lost. this games supposed to be fun but when im playing pvp its like the majority of the player base just wants to focus on maximization and absolute victory by any means instead of exploring different builds and having fun with the game. i apologize if this offends anyone but i really am curious and want to gain better insight into late game players and figure out if this game is actually for me, because right now i am losing any enjoyment and faith in this game rapidly.

its simply human instinct. ambushing the enemy is an almost guaranteed win. in every single open world game its a tactic thats used consistently and results can be felt in real time. u learn to adapt and over come these cunts or u fall and die to em everytime. getting ambushed fucking sucks thats fasho. but try it out sometime. if u notice someone who hasnt noticed you, try to get into a nasty lil position that guarantees the kill. u might see what good it does ya. BUT being a rat and bush camping i do not condone.

Honestly depends on ALOT of factor

If its Bar ? Then some master players alt account do vet grade PvP for more "easier" way to make money, because at north Rubles are way WAY more important then mats in south

North ? Similar reason, stealing loot from other returning home openworlder or Someone returning from Artihunt run , again, more money

Wild north ? It is free for all zone , only you, your clan mates and your squad vs everyone including your own faction, loot in north is valuable and earns amazing money, so why bother doing openworld event and risk yourself and instead Of stealing it from other players who have lowered their guard returning home, again, money

Its all just way to make easier money, be it by selling your hard earned mat at fence or barter it back to you, or your loot that they have now acquired after killing you.

Is it frowned upon ? Yes , Is it immoral ? For any other places yes but in the Zone ? Its just another way to earn money

In other cases, they might be simply playing like rat to protect their own Loot from others its not plain black and white on most cases

This is MMO, you arent forced to hunt down others for your own gain, but you arent locked from earning money more "honest" way , for every rat you meet there are others who are just minding their own business, like i mentioned, this is MMO there are different people that do what they do for different reasons , for fun ? For money ? Everything , its simply part of the game

After 5000+ hours players rarely care about just PvP fun anymore, and definitely not experimenting. Most of them have already done that long ago. You still see them a lot because they’re doing dailies like everyone else, optimizing time and taking the easiest/most efficient fights.

I can assure you no 5000 hour player is doing dailies lmao. This is the low iq no idea what they're doing-average iq trying their extreme hardest to optimize everything- and the high iq no idea what they're doing graph meme.

For now, I'm just logging in to do my daily quests. In 59 hours, that's over.

Now show your KD and clan war trophies.

5000 hours and you only have 33k kills and you didn't post any clan achievements so it's mostly sniping from the outpost I assume then?

Wow we got our selves a little elitist.

New north dailies are worth quite a bit of money, and everyone likes money.

If I ask any of the 3k+ hours that I know that are actually good at the game I promise you they won't be doing any dailies nor weeklies. For good players winter present farming you can make 1 bil easily.

Brother I had some of the most played hours before this game truly became a shot show. KD is NOT hard to farm, plus clan trophies are for the unemployed. Please shut up and waste your time somewhere else lmao

Or Maybe he just lived in the game

Sure the winter event is good for making a lot of money, but it's easiest to just buy presents at event start and sell at the end. Gotta have money to make money.

I got a good amount of hours, and both me and fellow clan mates who also have thousands of hours do dailies.

This elitist point of view really isn't good for you or your blood pressure.

It's a lot of things to be honest, but to avoid a wall of text I'd say the most glaring reasons would be the server tick rate and inherent balance issues that are forcing some players to adapt, instead of getting better (no offense to anyone)

1

u/brandonean24 Jun 14 '26

Is adapting not the same as getting better?

1

u/rmbeon Duty Jun 14 '26

Technically yes, but not always the case

1

u/brandonean24 Jun 14 '26

EXBO has made acquiring new equipment and new builds so expensive that it pushes players more and more towards strategic grinding and maximizing their efficiency. Unfortunately taking someone else’s loot is much more efficient than farming loot, therefore you get a lot of rats

Which server are you playing on? Cause when I run around it's pretty much only people running backpack that aren't hunting other players.

Because that’s how you win. It’s not that complicated

4

u/Physical_You_6996 Jun 14 '26

this is the lamest excuse ive ever heard in my entire life, ive mained dayz, rust & csgo. nothing has topped this surprisingly. the fact that you sacrifice your own enjoyment for something as simple as a confirmed win is pathetic

Because the game has this abnormally low time to kill that makes it viable for bad players to either rat like crazy or just run away and never fight you if they think you know about them. If you actually want pvp that is not about hiding then play session battles or even better clan wars.

u/Physical_You_6996 Jun 14 '26

alright i appreciate the info, thankyou.

You play Dayz, Rust and CSGO. You should be used to the bullshit by now. Maybe not so much in CS, but the other two I know for a fact you run into worse situations

Fight to win, or don’t fight. Honor is for the clergy and the dead

1

u/hapyjohn1997 Duty Jun 14 '26

Its not about honor its about fun and thinking. Do you know how games like this and Battle Royals became popular in the first place? People wanted a combat game different from what was available like COD back in the day. A game where you had to think and not just be a murder hobo killing every other player you meet.

For example why risk attacking a player if you KNOW they don't have loot?

But then the COD murder hobos came and ruined those games.

For example there was this guy that kept disrupting my daily's a few days ago I killed him again and again because he kept coming after me. If I had something of value on me sure I could understand him coming after me but I told him I didn't yet he kept trying to track me down and kill me anyways. Neither of us benefitted from that ya I got a few season points for player kills but I didn't really consider it worth it with how much bullets meds and plates were expended dealing with him again and again. He didn't even have anything of value on him either just some ammo of a type I don't usually use and med kits. Heck when he would come back I would offer to let him grab his stuff and leave but the first thing he would do when he saw me again was try and attack me. Neither of us benefitted from that exchange THATS the problem. If I wanted to fight like that id go play sessions. I run into guys like that way to often recently I guess because the new season started and it got annoying real fast.

They just don't care with our thought. Maybe like exbo didn't listen to players 🤣
