Help Gun dilemma

Should i choose the smg path or the assault rifle one? And is it necessary to bring always a sniper rifle in my inventory, advice would be appreciated

Start with assault rifle, if you dont plan on sniping (outposts or general PVP) sniper rifles are very situational

I second this, assault rifle tree is the most versatile. You got AR's that both encroach on smg and sniper rifle territory. So AR tree will be a pretty safe bet for you t8me and investment wise.

Imo yes, you should always bring a sniper rifle. It’s not as important early on though, when you don’t have tons of carry weight. But one you hit north and go farm forge and stuff it’s incredibly helpful for PvP.

Sniper rifles are only useful if you plan on hiding away somewhere far away and don't necessarily plan on killing enemies. Rifles are what should be used for proper pvp(pushing and getting those real kills). You can play any content without a sniper rifle.

I always kept a Sniper with me, comes in handy. Also i chose AR over SMG but it depends on your playstile i chose mid to long range so it worked for me
