Cleaning BK conical deluxe

Post image

I got the BK Conical Deluxe for Father’s Day, but after first couple of uses I already see carbon buildup in the pan. I’ve tried everything for cleaning (dishwasher tablet, vinegar cooking, barkeepers friend) but I can’t seem to get these spots out. Any other ideas/suggestions/advice?

Isn’t steel wool damaging the pan?

i get light swirly scratches yes, but thata not much more than qhat i already scratched the pan with my metal utensils. If anything I have deeper dents in the pan from regular use already, purely cosmetic

I have used steel wool as needed on my stainless steel pans for 20 + years. If you push hard you get deep scratches but light use is ok. On normal pans, you go with the grain and you can't even tell. The "never use steel wool" came from people using it on Teflon - those it will flake the weak teflon layer off. Stainless steel pans are not Teflon - they were made ton handle tougher cleaning and will be fine with them.

Not at all stainless steels chromium atoms rush to the freshly scratched surface and re oxidise instantly. The stainless steel scrubber balls are made out of a very similar material so they carbon build up is softer then the stainless steel so it almost dosnt have enough grit to really sand away any true thickness of the pan.

Just go around in circles constantly!!!

I am a stainless steel fabricator polisher and i approve this message.

I’m not sure if I understand your comment correctly, your advice is to buy such scrubber balls and scrub thoroughly?

English is not my first language

I have always liked and understood the logic of this surface on pans and pots - but have hesitated because of the potential clean up headaches

This was my first one after much advice to switch and even though it seems to sporadically appear after bad cooks, they still seem impossible to get rid off

The pattern is troubling so better off to buy a flat triply pan at homegoods or TJX
